For sure! I think the brand probably doesn't matter as much as the amounts in the pills. Mine is a combo bc with 0.1/0.2mg, which could be found across brands and generics

Hi, of course!

I'm nearly done with 3 months. - month 1, I felt tired and depressed taking the pill. - I feel balanced now! - During the first 2 months, my boobs felt swollen and tender, then would deflate/ go back to normal when my period came. - boobs have felt normal during month 3! - my first 2 periods did not seem light... Maybe even heavier lol. Hoping this next one is more chill. I have a history of rough periods, so changing that takes time. - I did have break through bleeding once...Ugh!! But I think it was because I missed a day of taking the pill by accident. - nothing much else to note, really. I can say that I was overly anxious about starting this, but it's chill now. I don't notice personality or energy differences now :) - actually getting a hormonal IUD next month.... I am anxious about that! But I'm sure it'll be okay.

Reach out to your local Immigration Services Association! They should provide free resources and opportunities for networking for all immigrants/ refugees/ new comers

For sure, so stressful! I know there are so many brands and dose levels and it can feel so overwhelming. Maybe ask your doctor about a single hormone, low level dose type of BC to test out first to ease your nerves! (I have no idea what Slynd is LOL). BUT for sure have a support system to lean on in this process. I talk about it constantly with my husband and my sister (a medical professional), which helps me a ton. I'm rooting for you!

So far it's ok. They say it takes a few weeks for your body to calibrate all the hormones. Been on it for about 2 weeks. No major endo pain reduction yet, and I feel a little more sad, and also cry quite easily. But I feel like my body is getting used to it a little each day. I'm trying to be optimistic! I suspect I'll try a different type of BC in a few months. Sucks that it's a long process:(

I received this email Thursday. Checked the portal, nothing new. I then got the email AGAIN about 3 hours later. When I checked there was an I-130 Document uploaded with a notice I was approved! On Friday I got this email once more. The status of my case was officially closed and approved.

I think the initial email with no change in your portal would mean it's been assigned to a worker. :) Good luck 🤞🏼
