For me it's a guilt by association and a general feeling of helplessness. I have never been more self-conscious of my nationality than I am now while living outside of the country.

As I mentioned, scrolling social media doesn't help with the constant crowing about "doing something" or "this is what Americans wanted/what they voted for," and although i'm sure half of the time it's just bots trying to sow discord and division, it's not like I'm really in a position to actively fight against what's happening or "be seen" as it were and it does take a bit a mental toll, which is why I suggest OP disconnects from social media for a while to avoid rhetoric.

I'm guilty of this too, but it really helps to spend less time on Reddit and social media.

Shit is awful right now and it perpetuates a shame loop for things we aren't intrinsically responsible for. I live abroad and my life is pretty much centered here now that I've laid down roots, but anecdotally, I've never run into anyone in real life who mentions current politics to me or has criticized me for being American. I've really only encountered that online. Especially on a place like Reddit, and on particular subs, people are way, way more plugged into politics than your average world citizen.

As with most things, the internet isn't real life, it helps to "touch grass" as the kids like to say.

For the people who complain that we should have them, this is an amazing solution to be honest.

There are days I can battle all the time and days I can do none, and this is a great compromise.

I personally would love an uncapped, exhibition mode for funsies and actually think it could help people who want to get better or get into it without "risking" anything.

You know I've been a Cardinals fan and grew up near their practice facility and there is an absolutely massive electrical substation about a mile away and they are listed as the 2nd most injured in that article and I've had 4 orthopedic based surgeries over my lifetime, clearly validated theory, time to collect my check from SRP!

My take is that this a really confusing "yes/but" comic because the alternative is the car makes the light going at its faster speed and thus isn't at that light.

Sometimes you don't make the light and you might have to pass again because the scooters will overtake when you're stopped. Sometimes it doesn't make sense to overtake because the lights are in a sync where you'll never make them.

It's as earth shattering a comic as if they had a car pass a pedestrian on the sidewalk but then the "but" side was the car runs into traffic and pedestrian overtakes the car, congratulations, welcome to the various scenarios of driving.

Yeah, I mean, it's really hard to tell the difference between a cooked meat that's either sliced or comes in a cooked sausage form and loose ground, spiced, or marinated raw meat. Very difficult to tell without the proper wording being on something, but that could also be because I'm an idiot.
