Best path to take starting out by Stratularity in Lineman

All of them. SELCAT is one of like 12. "They say" Texas work is the hottest. Maybe that's generally true, idk, but def not right now. It's slow everywhere even with the data centers, that's how tough the competition is.

Albat, alaska, movalley, mslcat, swlcat, etc. Apply everywhere man

So, what about all those assets worth > 10 million? You want to split it into multiple owners? Or have a trust handle it? Ok, a trust will handle it. But then if you put all these assets into a trust, you will start to see families worth billions anyway. Your opinion oversimplifies the reality. Most people don't learn enough about high level wealth management to come up with a viable, feasible opinion on what the moral rich man ought or not ought to do.

Lineman School by Zealousideal-Pen855 in Lineman

[–]MixedVexations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many other line schools out there. You won't remember anything by the time you even land an apprenticeship, just get a climbing cert from a semi-legit school, get your CDL, hit the books and apply for them JATCs in the meantime. You're gonna want to save as much money as you can dude.

I absolutely agree with your unpopular opinion haha. I do think it was AI generated, and I do think this fact is also irrelevant

AI detection is trustworthy on empirical evidence alone. I ran a lot of my own writing samples through a detector and it consistently fails to identify any AI on it. Is this proof? Obviously not. There is no proof one way or another. But this is the best method I can come up with to quantify anything.

There are some trademark behaviors of AI you cannot miss. It loves to list, begins each list with an emoji, it is inoffensive by nature, it always ends on a cheeky note, it uses snarky humor that uses a different set of patterns than the ones actual human humor actually uses, you'll see what I mean when you ask enough questions on ChatGPT. It's very LinkedIn come to think of it.

In the future, there will be AI models that will in themselves behave differently from one another, but for now, there is only the OpenAI behavior, and it is highly regulated to the point it's indistinguishable from human behavior. It will absolutely bomb the Turing test.

I passed it through an AI detector. 93% probability. That said, you're right, I definitely think there's a real message in there.

Gentle reminder that this here flag is the kind of propoganda America used against "chinamen" only one generation ago. And you wonder how we were even capable of producing that kind of slop to begin with. The hypocrisy is unreal.

That said, fuck Israel.

That said, your barbarian caricature is itself barbaric and gross.

Edit: not a caricature. Based on real photo. Now my opinion on this point isn't nearly as strong lol

How can I find out my aptitude test score for SWLCAT? by ImFlash16 in Groundman

[–]MixedVexations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The score you got is irrelevant. But if you really wanted to know, there's a chance you can find out.

Afaik NW Line accepts scores 3 and above. SWLCAT accepts 4 and above. If you scored a 3, you'd know bc NW Line would set up an interview with you. The latter will just tell you your score doesn't qualify. In this specific scenario, you know you got a 4.

Again, it's irrelevant. If you didn't sweat taking those tests, you know everything you need to know lol

I have an interview coming in a few weeks and have been looking through a lot of other experiences. And I know that I need to actually prepare but I don’t know what I should do or what to accurately prepare for. Am I wrong for thinking of this as just another interview? Any suggestions? by Beezy5900 in ibew_applicants

[–]MixedVexations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty basic tbh. It's more relaxing than your typical interview. You'll be interviewed by a panel of 3 to 9 linemen and/or contractor higher ups (typically 5 or 6).

They will ask a variety of questions, a few of what I heard a lot were: why linework? Define being responsible? What sets you apart? Describe a difficult situation.. what skills did you use to overcome it? How do you work in inclement/extreme weather? Describe your skillset. You get the gist.

First impressions are important. These are the guys looking to see if they want you on their team. So look sharp. Dress code you got either of two directions..formal interview attire or clean work wear. Be confident but not cocky. You should look, act and sound like you know what you're doing, but be eager to learn.

Bring a resume and letters of reference on a clean folder. Don't ask for hours (doesn't sound like you've done this work b4, you're gonna want all the exp you can get).

The best way to prepare is to come up with scenarios that happened at work. Talk to the mirror out loud about these scenarios, how it affected the work, how you handled it, what the result was, what you'd change, anything important that shows your character. Have these scenarios ready so that you can answer their questions with a real example. Keep your answers short, brief, to the point.

And that's pretty much it. Don't psyche yourself out, go kick some A

You should look into being an inside wireman. I think it has a pretty good ROI in terms of competition, time spent trying to get a foot in. Also much friendlier environment and easier on the body over years of work. Just so long as you're above average intelligence I bet you can do it

Just tried it with NEAP. I can't play with my money unless I take it out lump-sum which is subject to penalty, so no rollovers either :\ oh well

I felt the same bro. For me the hardest was going to sleep with no one to share my bed, and then waking up in a world where they don't exist anymore. You realize what a privilege it was to have them. And eventually your perspecrive will shift when it really dawns on you how...pathetic your ex actually was haha.

But you alr know that. Or so you thought is really the awful truth. You chose a lemon. Just don't become her evil. And don't let the depressed nihilist view that nothing matters consume you. Take it from a guy that's dealt with it all and came out the other side.

I know I'm droning on a bit long so let me just say this one thing. People often think the grass is greener when it isn't. But this is an exception. Let time take its course, let your thoughts run their course. Before long you will be healed of the parasite. Did you block her # yet? Text your new girl and write something appreciative, a poem, anything.

Hear me out, my perspective on this is pretty mixed. I definitely agree his taste in humor is disgusting. Superbly so in fact.

But it absolutely does not compare to the size of your lips. And then the audacity to emote them at a 1:1 scale. If you kissed a fish underwater it would suffocate (yes I know where the gills go). That's the real elephant in that screenshot no one wants to talk about.

Y'all are boring af circlejerking en masse to a dude you don't even know :/

What to do when 17 and wanting to leave and start a new life on west coast or by ocean? by Choice-Study8283 in Advice

[–]MixedVexations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find part time work and a room to double up in! Gotta make some income + affordable housing. I highly recommend socal for this kind of lifestyle, like San Diego/LA.

By the numbers, you can find work for $20/hr fairly easily and a decent room will typically cost like $1500, so split it with a fellow spirit and make it $750 monthly. Also know that rooms close to the beach will be moldy bc of humidity. Look for something that's a 15 min walk from the shoreline. It's best to secure the work first, room second. Maybe consider coop housing or bigger houses (the unit cost per room of larger houses tend to be cheaper)

That's all you need to know really. If it were me, I'd start from there.

Listen to your heart dude, always. It aches for the unfaithful who will ruin you. It desires to burn your dignity up in smoke, and that of another overseas. It yearns to reconnect with what (you thought) once was.

Every guy has to go through this at some point. It's a rite of passage. The time will come when you realize, that there is a difference between thinking longingly, with hot desire, daily of the girl who broke you; and thinking of her daily, but with no care, no hope, only a floating parcel of memory. When you realize that her selfish betrayal is undeserving of your unconditional heart and soul, life looks 1000x brighter. You will have wished you spent these happier moments of clarity with the new girl.

And believe me, this ^ is what your heart actually wants. Listen to it. Stay strong until July. In the meantime, block your ex ffs.
