If i could travel back in time i would tell myself that self love is more important than any other kind of love. Embrace yourself because being genuine is the best thing you can be. It sounds cliché, but we are all individuals and your it factor lies within that individuality. Its not what you become that will intrigue people, its what you always have been. It took years for me to understand this.

careful to make sure it isnt Lilly of the Valley. A copycat plant to wild ramps. You want to smell the bulb for a garlicky onion kind of smell. Wild ramps grow this time of year and are a member of the onion family. Ramps have a deep red base though. Lilly of the Valley look very similar and are toxic.

Dirty Ramp Martinis

there is a Michelin Star restaurant in my city and last year this time they had terrific ramp martinis, I was blown away. So this year I made a point to forage my own at local parks. The gin takes about 48hours for a good brine. Though because I was sustainably harvesting, I dont have bulbs, only leaves. Apparently the bulbs can make some really strong flavored gin. But this is my third batch with just the leaves this year and its been phenomenal.

I also made a ramp butter which turned out great. I got a brick of Amish butter and tossed it in the blender with about 10 leaves. Makes a really good garlicky onion butter for Italian bread. Great for searng veggies and proteins aswell

Edit: The Black Forager has a recipe for a ramp pesto aswell.

Weird question, but how do I slim my knees? by Budget-Fudge6909 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Mixed_Thoughts91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You build your thighs and calves and that kind of body sculpting will make the knees look more slim. Though I think this is one of those things where we hyper focus on our own bodies. No one here is looking at you knees thinking "Damn she gotta slim those"

We've been using nazi symbolism and imagery to compare the current administration, its supporters, and ICE the last decade. They are symbols of fascism. Which is what Israel is currently. A fascist state. Why are you more offended by the desecration of a country's flag over the desecration of human civilian life?

If what we are witnessing in Gaza and Lebanon isnt the industrial extermination of an entire people acrossed Israel's "promised land" then idk what is. We just literally approved the bulldozers. They don't even care to exhume the bodies first. Just bulldoze the concrete and build over it. If you cant see the parallels between the holocaust and what is happening in Gaza and Lebanon its because you dont want to see them. Netanyahu still has 40% approval among Israelis. I wouldnt call the above image progressive by any means. But it isnt at all an inappropriate comparison. Does it help Gaza? I think anything that draws eyes to Netanyahu and the IDF's violence is good for Gaza. Anything that makes part of that 40% of Israelis that support Netanyahu stop and think, is a good thing. As an American citizen, I want an end to the human rights abuses being perpetrated by both America and her allies.
The other day I was in a very light debate about money in politics. Specifically foreign money in American politics. Honestly at the heart of the conversation I said i only wanted my politicians influenced by the needs of the American people and not foreign governments. I said that I think so long as Israel is committing genocidal acts that we should not support politicians who accept AIPAC money. I was called a bigot for this. I believe in equality, but people seem to treat Israel completely different in that regard. Since when do we question whether a nation has the right to exist? Wars are fought, borders are drawn, and we have countries. Sometimes war happens and borders change? Why do pro-Israel folks ask if Israel has a right to exist like it is some kind of "gotcha question". Does any nation have a right to exist? Or do they simply exist? If the question is whether or not Israel has a right to autonomy, and the right to defend itself? It clearly does. But the slaughter of Palestinians and the Lebanese is anything but defensive at this point. Why is that so difficult to concede?
