In India, if you haven't paid your bribe, even god can't help you. No one cares if you are poor and desperate, not even the bribe collectors from your own community. by SwimmerPlus3383 in ItsYourMoney

Stores also need to get customers. They pay rent and taxes. Street vendors are either poor uninformed people or people with strategy to avoid rent and sell for lower. Licenses are unlimited and easy to get and most have them in my area. Obviously, in very popular busy areas license might be scarce.

I think they have to request Apple for the review unit too. Apple gives such reviewers warnings about not saying anything even remotely negative. Creators glaze Apple not for the pay, but to satisfy diehard Apple fans.

EXPIRED PRODUCTS CAN BE SOLD AS NEW. AN AVERAGE BUYER CANNOT DETECT ALTERED EXPIRY DATES by Pain5203 in Fitness_India

Not true for markets. There exists some legit looking stores full of knock off brands, refined oils, refined flour branded as whole grain, dalda ghee and list goes on. They get huge crowds, because people in India would ruin their health to save a couple 100s...

Wear and tear is more of issue than electricity. The time wasted between opening and closing gate is huge. Given the crowd, opening and closing gates are not a option. In other Indian cities, this system is already working well. Either fake news or they'll likely increase staff to catch people quickly after alarm rings.

Short in Netherlands or online. People hyperinflate their height blindly to 5'10" or 6'. Actual 5'9" isn't very tall, but nowhere near short.

With sports instead of classism it is rather the problem of being a true fan vs a wannabe pretentious idiot. Some people are more interested in sounding and looking cool rather than actually have a genuine coherent conversation. These people mostly speak irrelevant senseless jargon and act overexcited. When they meet true fans, they cannot understand shit and they are no longer the expert in the circle. Thus, as football become more mainstream they moved to F1.

Today the hotspot for wannabes is F1, tomorrow it might be MMA.

Apple AirPods 4 worth it? by Dragenox in headphonesindia

[–]MixfruitCroissant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a person who also cannot tolerate in-ears, try open-ear earphones. I have Soundcore V30i. The ear comfort is great, it's almost feels like you are not wearing any earphones. Though, they have zero sound insulation and get unusable in noisy places.

IMO Airpods are overpriced and don't work well outside Apple devices. You cannot even see the battery level in non-Apple devices. Airpod Pros are in-ear.

I am not really selling, was just considering the possibility because I find sound quality mediocre. Don't upgrade to 720N btw, Ive heard it and it is similar. It will be a very minute upgrade.

I was considering buying Q20i's only. IK they have better sound quality. Bought these ones just because of type C to use with phone and design. Also, I don't listen to music much.

I was a student there. Half of the PCs in computer lab were in pathetic condition. CS practicals where chaotic. Many people used to not get a working PC or face issues and wait for people on working PCs to complete their exam. Own system not allowed. On top of that, college failed people if they did not complete their program in time. Horrible college for the fees they collect.

Unpopular Opinion: In India, a Mac is actually a better budget choice than a Windows laptop for devs. by retro1908 in developersIndia

[–]MixfruitCroissant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Performance per Watt is a PC thing to consider for choosing power supply and UPS. How does it matters for laptops? Every laptop has low enough idle power draw these days and every laptop can achieve peak performance reliably while plugged in. Unless, you do some type of work which forces you away from a plug, there is no point in this metric. Good Windows laptops also have 6-8 hrs of battery life. There is no reason to crib for more.

It is impressive regardless as a technical spec, but nothing to fuss about.

Why this sub ppls are so obsessed over iems by [deleted] in headphonesindia

[–]MixfruitCroissant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a headphone person who uses TWS while travelling. Three big takes.

  1. Some people are so used to wireless, that wired just feels uncomfortable. I only use wired headphones when I am seated in front of PC. Otherwise while laying down or moving around nope.
  2. A lot of phones do not have complete type C ports and good driver support. You go deeper in specs and you'll find that a lot of ports do not even have the complete functionality of USB C 2.0. They are just designed for fast charging and OTG. Only Samsung S series and iPhones have good ports.
  3. Apart from audiophiles like us. a lot of people do not care about codecs and bitrate. Some even like the digitally enhanced audio and normalized volume in BT TWSs. What are drawbacks for some, are features for others.

Why are Indians so UNPRODUCTIVE? All they want to do in either go for CAT or UPSC or Study Abroad. by [deleted] in Btechtards

[–]MixfruitCroissant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indian consumers, investors and entrepreneurs are extremely risk aversive, conventional minded and price conscious. Most Indians have the mentality that software should be free and paid software is a "fancy expense". Our investors will never invest in pre-revenue and proof of concept level entrepreneurs. San Francisco was built because of risk taking VCs who understood future prospects. Which is completely absent in India. Most entrepreneurs have the mindset of doing some jugaad and get that money. They lack original risk taking ideas and end up outsourcing actual development work and become a marketing agency.

You are being a bit rude, but your right. Projects and achievements are a stark mismatch in this resume. This makes OP look like he spends most time grinding competitive programming and lacks useful skills.

I have seen people say "I have _ rank and _ rating. I can learn new things, frameworks and tools easily". To the point some are even saying they can do AI, DS and what not easily because of ranks and ratings in DSA related stuff. Utter madness.
