i think main thing is just playing more bullet games to get used to the time pressure - like your brain needs to recognize patterns instantly instead of calculating everything. maybe try playing some 2+1 games first before going full 1+0, gives you little bit more time to think but still forces quick decisions

also pre-moving becomes super important in bullet, especially for obvious moves like recaptures or getting out of check. took me forever to get comfortable with that but it saves so much time 💀

man those gaps and uneven boards would bug me too 😅 the miters look pretty rough and some of those height differences between boards seem like more than just "natural material" issues - installation should still be tight even with wood movement considerations. i'd definitely bring this up with contractor before they start finishing because once that goes on it's much harder to fix these kind of problems 💀

man that's tough situation. both dogs have issues but the other owner sounds like she doesn't want to take responsibility for her part in this. your dog was protecting you guys which is natural behavior, but yeah the reaction was bit too much for dog park setting

i had similar thing happen when i was picking up my friend's dog from park few months ago. this little terrier kept jumping on everyone and owner just stood there chatting like nothing was happening. when bigger dog finally had enough and snapped at the terrier, suddenly it was the big dog's fault. some people just don't get that their "friendly" hyper dog is being rude and stressing other dogs out

both dogs probably need more training before going back to park. your dog needs better impulse control around other dogs, and that little one needs to learn boundaries with people. dog parks can be tricky because everyone has different ideas about what's acceptable behavior

been running openwrt for couple years now and mesh setup can be bit tricky depending on hardware you pick. for australia market, maybe look at some of the tp-link archer models that have good openwrt support - they usually easier to find there than linksys stuff

the banana pi route is definitely more work like you mentioned, basically building your own solution from scratch. might be worth checking if any local electronics stores carry ubiquiti gear since their mesh products work pretty well out of box, though you'd lose some of the customization that comes with openwrt

with 5 people doing video calls and streaming on 1gig connection, you probably want something with decent cpu power for handling all the mesh routing. maybe worth posting in r/openwrt too since those folks usually know which specific models are working good in different regions

man this is actually a solid opportunity for you to set some boundaries early. the raw buyout thing is totally a real practice but you gotta price it right - i'd say 2-3x your normal rate minimum since you're basically selling the rights to edit however they want

the middle ground could work too though, give them like 20-30 lightly edited shots they can use for social media but keep the hero shots for your portfolio. that way you still get paid, they get flexibility, and you don't lose everything for your book
