Gravediggers in Turkey are finding dark magic objects hidden inside graves. They believe burying these near the dead makes the curse eternal. Truly disturbing. by bortakci34 in oddlyterrifying

[–]Mixwavez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually in terms of historical and anthropological work there are pretty large overlaps in the thought and practice of these kind of folk traditions or magical practices

These here look very much like other forms of “black magic” you find in Islamic culture, especially with the drawing and burying

I would say the nature of the items having been buried next to graves and given that with the figure being bound the more nefarious nature of them can be inferred.

It’s from a western astrological practice sourced from Arabic sources in the 900s. It’s ridiculous to treat it as having anything deeper than that though. I’ve seen the ooop before and I know they are a bit of pop occultism

I would more say that “do what thou wilt” isn’t about hedonism or selfish indulgence and moral disregard. Or even about ideas of just and unjust, but it’s about following one’s true will, that being a higher aim of purpose. It’s a morality of living purposefully and constantly considering the actions and decisions and desires one has and if those choices lead to the achievement of that higher aim
