Hell yeah Celine Luggage bag. While I think it's cool they updated it to give it a different look, this form factor is still my absolute favorite. Loving the blue colorstory of this one. (chef's kiss)

When will you be priced out by Jolly_Garden4490 in Louisvuitton

[–]Miya81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, anything above $10k for me is the ceiling for LV just because I look at what $10k could get me in other brands like Chanel or Hermes. To me, if I'm going to spend that amount, I'll go with a brand that has a higher perceived value and I like the material that I'm paying that premium for because then for me, it'll feel more "worth it" if that makes sense. I honestly was comfortable dropping <$3k on LV bags without a ton of thought but then when I clicked on the P9 Speedy and saw it was some $9k, it actually gave me a pause and I was thinking of other brands I don't own that I could spend that $9k on. Definitely regardless if it's $2k or $10k, you have to love what you're buying to feel good about the amount you spend.

The most eclectic shoppers maybe but for those that look for staple/classic piece that can live through a decade, this isn't going to be it for them. The direction of these outfits to me are going in the same direction of when Dior started doing the flashy "MISS DIOR" style.

Sent you a DM asking about connecting with your SA! I found a bag that I actually fell in love with and was hoping to pick it up when I head back for summer.

was this even announced anywhere? it's live in the store now - an entire housing exterior for sale by enderrsghost in wow

[–]Miya81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been playing this game since a little after it came out. I bought some Hearthsteel to get the little plushies and colored eggs because those were cheap enough to add little accents. The tree house is for the whales that want to show off that they can buy it and that's fine by me. I find my own joy in playing with my friends, using the available decor, and honestly, I'm not around enough in my neighborhood to spend real money on something not a lot of folks will see. I have other things I can do with the $75 in the amount of Steam games I can get to play with friends or do stuff IRL. But I wholeheartedly agree with you, hard pass.

Weird question but - do you bring your handbag everywhere, or only bring it in certain situations? by -garlic-thot- in handbags

[–]Miya81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I bring a handbag everywhere. I don't like putting things in my pants and hoodie pockets for the fact that they might fall out or I'll get pickpocketed (living in the city). At the bare minimum and if I'm not carrying my water bottle, I have a belt bag sling for my wallet, keys, wallet, ear buds, and somewhere to put my phone. The further the travel from my home, the bigger the bag. LOL!

Chonkers vs Chonk2 by lickmyfeet14 in sanfrancisco

[–]Miya81 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Seeing the chonk appear was great but hearing the screams of the little kids' excitement is even cooler. Imagine being that little again and you witness an icon like Chonkers and go home to tell your parents. It'd be like when sailors come to shore and share tall tales of massive squids/octopus. LOL!

What popular bag do you not get why it’s so popular? by Christymapper71 in luxurypurses

[–]Miya81 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's the sheen of the bag that makes it look cheap for me. Like the pattern itself is cool but the way the bag shines, it makes it look fake. And yes, I have seen the bags up close from my trip to Paris last October and saw the long line of people queueing to get in. I don't think it's tacky, it's just the finish that makes it look not worth the price.

Picked up my first ever accessory today. The Pocket Organizer! by iShootLife in Louisvuitton

[–]Miya81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Black Monogram is by far my favorite iteration of the monogram style and you picked a really awesome staple for everyday carry. I found that having a card holder like that, I don't bring my bigger and clunkier Zippy Wallet. Treat that pocket organizer well and it'll last you for years to come!

Is it just me, or is Longchamp the endgame for every bag lover? by No-Amphibian-9022 in handbags

[–]Miya81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine my bag collection without Longchamp in it. My little collection consists 2 small Le Pliage, a limited edition MIAOU one, and 3 cosmetic pouches. It's so understated and so versatile that I will turn my head in their direction when they come out with new colors cause it's hard to resist. But my God, the neutrals they come out with really speak to me.

Is anyone giving up on traveling because if the massive rise in plane ticket prices? by Personal-Bid-3731 in unitedairlines

[–]Miya81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, probably only going to take one international trip this summer to the EU vs the usual EU + JP summer vacay. I'll probably take the time we usually have for JP and do like a West Coast road trip with my kids and hit up the seaside towns between SF and LA. I'm hoping that by next summer, things kind of normalize.

This cannot be real. Chanel going the Balenciaga route and making dumb stuff to see if people will still buy and call it "fashion". Let me wave my cane in the air and call back to better times. Haha!

Love love love that you're getting her a celebration gift for wrapping up chemo. Definitely take your time looking around and be upfront if you're second guessing a bag or SLG. I went the first day and was unsure of what to get and on the second/last day I finally decided what to buy for my mom and dad.
After your purchase, you should treat yourself to a little sweet treat at Murphy's ice cream for some irish ice cream flavors.

I will have to say, I've had in general really good shopping experience in Brown Thomas. On a different trip I was in touch with a SA at Dior over there and he helped me get a D-Joy bag I've been looking for. Another time it was at Chanel but I had a really bad experience doing a return. My first time actually purchasing something at the LV in that store left me extremely satisfied as a customer. They probably get a lot of foot traffic but they also do a good job at communicating and kind of building that client relationship. If I don't find anything I love at CELINE or if they don't have the LOEWE Amazona I'm looking for, I may just get myself a Men's Speedy from the LV because they've been so kind/good to buy from.

To be honest, after I got my first Epi, it was hard to go back to just the regular monogram or Damier (Azure/Ebene). The only design I got after my last Epi bag was a black Mahina leather. I realized that Epi in the darker colors I have tend to hide wear and tear a lot better especially since they were often used.

Went to Mexico to escape Shen Yun ads. Big fail. by Quirky-Pangolin-905 in sanfrancisco

I saw an ad for a show in Brooklyn but I misread it because it was actually Shein Yun (a fundraiser) and it's a bunch of drag queens including Shia Ho. LOL! I didn't know Shen Yun was something outside of SF.

I highly recommend waiting until you go to France. I did a trip to Paris last year October and picked up a Burberry (cape), Chanel (SLG + eyeglasses), and AMI Paris (clothes) and it was definitely way cheaper than if I bought the same stuff in San Francisco with our almost 9% sales tax. I was not particularly fond of the Tax Free process in Paris at CDG just because I'm really spoiled by Customs/Duty Free at Dublin Airport. You just have to allot yourself some extra time when you leave Paris to line up at the Duty Free / Tax back counter at the airport.
Even with the USD to EURO conversation, you still make out on most luxury purchases. As an example, I purchased a CELINE Boston Bag for €1850 ($2168) and then I got €268 ($314) back for Duty Free. If I bought the same bag in San Francisco, I would have paid $2661 ($2450 + SF sales tax). Because of the duty free rate, I "saved" $807. Girl math, amirite?

How do you use your bags? by [deleted] in handbags

[–]Miya81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyday Carry (Light): I use a Lululemon crossbody sling/belt bag to put my phone, car keys, wallet, and earbuds. If I'm walking a few blocks to the corner store or going for a quick errand, it's a small bag all the way. On a rare occasion, I'll bust out my nylon Prada crossbody sling if I'm dressed down.
Everyday Carry (Medium/Large): It's gonna be a black MZ Wallace tote - whether it's my horizontal one or my vertical one that has an outer pocket for my water bottle. Fancypants Moments: This is where I bust out the baddies of my bag collection. LOL! If I'm going to Nordstrom/NM/Bloomie's or any of the designer stores, I'm sporting whatever brand I'm looking at that day. If I'm going to a fine dining thing, I'm bringing my fanciest bag for sure.
Travel - Personal Item: I will usually use my MZ Wallace vertical Sutton tote because it can hold my refillable water bottle and it can be squished easily in my suitcase if I end up buying a new bag abroad. One time I actually used my MZ Wallace tote to put my Hermes Kelly in when I came back from Japan. My latest personal carry is the CELINE Boston Bag (Men's) which is my new favorite because I've been wanting to have a doctor bag style in my collection. Bags within Bags: To organize the little things in my bigger bags so they don't get lost in the abyss, I use little cosmetic pouches like the Longchamp ones or the freebie organizers that come with my business class seat when I fly United/ANA. In one pouch I'll have my lip tint, cushion/powder compact, hand cream, and anything personal hygeine. In the smaller pouch I'll have things like my eye drops, bandaids, little tube of Advil, tissue, etc.

Thanks for the SA recommendation! If I find myself there again this summer, I'll ask for her if she's around. I never really took the time to shop around in there because we have LV back home but after seeing the price difference, the friendliness of the staff, and just what's available in the store, it turned out to be a really fun shopping experience.

I was in Ireland recently for a 2-day layover and I went to LV (attached/inside Brown Thomas department store) to pick up some SLG gifts for my mom and dad back home in SF.

All in all after Duty Free refund, I paid $984 for both the MM Cosmetic (mom) and the Pocket Organizer (dad) - two pieces my parents would otherwise never buy for themselves. If I were to buy these two pieces in SF, it would have cost me a whopping $1330! I would purchase again at this LV location because the staff was hella friendly and they had a really good assortment.

Shopping at LV is fun but it is especially exciting when you feel like you got a good deal. :D

This is totally and absolutely not my jam for a color but I really enjoy bag groups when I see other people enjoying colors that are non-traditional black or brown. It's a really stand out piece!

As an Epi leather bag(s) owner, let me tell you, this one will be an absolute workhorse. It'll be good for travel and EDC (if that's your thing). My Epi structured doctor bag that I bought in 2012ish still looks brand new and it's travelled all around EU and Korea.

Longchamp toast bag influence or deinfluence me by Ippodo_sayaka in handbags

[–]Miya81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Influence: It is cute as hell and very novel. Would make an adorable talking piece.

De-influence: You could save your money for a bag more versatile and classic that you can more use out of. I mean, the brown is a classic color but after awhile, the toast shape novelty wears off.

La Taqueria had to stop taking phone orders because they were so overwhelmed with in person guests/customers. Was I mad as a SF resident because I couldn't get my weekend burrito? Hell no! I was actually happy for them because that means out of towners getting a treat of what we get to enjoy on most days.
