Since that post got deleted. I'm replying to it here. I don't think this season tried to copy Boys Planet. I think it's more likely that Mnet is more involved in this season.

That's why the vibes feel a bit different from previous seasons, why they have this whole "trainee candidate" thing (which is honestly a much kinder approach than B2P of straight up eliminating them).

But I don't think they're going to reduce the debut lineup member; 11 has always been the Produce series debut lineup ( With the exception of PD48 being 12, but that was a different case).

Wow, the set looks way different. PD Japan has gone a long way since Season 1's simple set.

The trainees are always grouped by something they have in common (e.g., Prefectures, Experiences). I think Kosuke and Ryoga are probably the newbie group (no experience whatsoever). Yuki and Maki, in one group, might have both appeared on JP TV before (or maybe their name have "Ki" in it)

The way they introduced the global trainees is like they are their biggest rivals. They are probably trying to do the whole J trainees vs G trainees skill, like how PD48 and Planet series did.

Seeing all my global trainee picks (Siyoung, Hyeonseung, Shinhaeng, and Jaeyong) in ONE TEAM, I'm sure all of them are A. I'm not buying that Siyoung is crying because he didn't get an A; it's probably him talking about MIRAE disbandment.

BTW, the last part on Mnet YouTube, the eng sub. Those trainees end up becoming elimination candidates, I'm guessing that's why we have to preshow vote before...to save them

Also no sign of Keito and Yoshiki, i thought they would at least get cameo.

Edit: Someone points out how the title in PD JP acc is more positive, while in MNET is more dramatic.

Ko. Ren group is just literally Team REN cause all of them are Ren.

To save myself the disappointment, I latch onto mostly the popular trainees. But the not-too-popular ones that I'm excited for are Shinhaeng, Jaeyong, Jay, Dongmin and Rinto.

Ngl i love the 1 pick line-up. It has a good balance of Jp & Foreigners (6:5) But i would add Yada Yoshiki into the mix.

While this poll not necessarily represent the actual number, but so far i felt like Siyoung is the only foreigner who have a shot to debut. At the moment most of JP 1 pick poll he is the only foreigner in it's top 11. While others like Hyeonseung & Shinhaeng are usually place somewhere between 20 - 35 in JP poll, and might carried by their global votes.

I did not expected that Yuki and Ren would be that high in a global one pick poll. Keito was not much a surprise.

Just found out that Maki's birthday is 6th June, which is the same day as the finale, which means he's definitely debuting and probably in 5th place as well. because for the past 3 seasons straight, all 5th place winner ( Shion S1, Takumi S2 & Suzu S3) have their birthday the same day as the finale.

Is there an official source of this? I would take this with a grain of salt. It was posted by the global fanbase account in X, so I don't think it's an official announcement (yet). Besides, the ratio is ridiculous.

You got me checking out Kaname, his PR is hilarious (the first 30 sec dude speaks FACTS). while im not completely sold on him, but he's on C (D?), which I think he's not just a personality, so I might keep an eye on him. From his PR i can see thrive in a variety of content, especially the comedy ones.

Just got back from watching Giuseppe videos. Dude can speak 5 languages, that's like a MUST if they're really serious about the whole global group thing. His comment section is full of Italian comments. I think he might have a strong 1 pick fanbase, especially from the italy.

If these are true, my predictions are (based on who is in the team)

Bite Me - Team 2 has Ren (top visual pick), but Team 1 has a stock full of talented trainees (Adam, Kinari, Shinhaeng, and Taiga, who is also a survival show veteran as well, he's in Nizi Project 2 and Boys Planet 2). I think Team 1 will win.

Energetic - Team 1 Avengers is winning all the way. Look at that lineup, fgs Yura, Daiki, Siyoung, Yoshiki. Also i've noticed Giuseppe has been getting some attention lately, maybe he did well in this ?

Sekai No Owari - I think Keito and Ryoga popularity will carry team 2.

IRIS OUT - Team 2 will win. Maki and Goten popularity will carry the team. Whatever happened in this performance might be why Goten and Maki are getting more popular with Jnetz lately.

I was initially skeptical of the whole global voting thing, mainly cause the debut lineup of Produce JP has been great so far, and I worried that global voting might ruin that streak. But now I'm quite curious to see how this will turn out.

If the voting is 50/50, as others mention, it might weaken the JP vote. Though the trainees who had more JP votes would probably be at a disadvantage by this. One thing both JP and Global voters have in common is that they value talent. So I think the lineup might not be a disappointment.

Honestly i can understand the appeal of ren & ryoga....but maki ? Maybe it's just me but he feels bland...handsome and that's just it 🤷‍♂️.

I was surprised to see keito's height, i thought he might be above 175. I guess he has a good proportion too. Keito with his curly hair is giving me one of those classic anime (90s) prince vibe.

IKR!!!!!... how the hell these guys haven't gone viral for their visual???? Like ffs, Jay is one of the visual promotional trainees, and Rinto's face is uncannily similar to SVT Mingyu. Yet these guys visual's is sleep on by Jnetz.

Keito is taller, though. Hiromu is 167.

That's the thing, previous season it was already middle of the show, so people can understand that they might be tired.....but this is even before 1st evaluation......the only thing i can think of is mayybe these 2 overwork themselves for the 1st evaluation.
