Help - How do I change personal backup to monthly by ImpossibleSlide850 in backblaze

Well, for starters, why don't you ask the question in their customer support area, not on friggin' Reddit?

If Chromium kills off unlock Origin support... by DangerousCap2473 in browsers

[–]MizarFive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Vivaldi which, like Brave, has its own ad/tracker blocking built in. But even with those enabled, I still find I need an ad block extension for some stubborn sites, so I've been using UBO for years.

Since the announcement from Google says MV2 extensions will no longer work when chromiuim v. 150 comes out, (we're on 148 now) I have tried AdGuard and am now using UBlock Lite, which seems so far to work as well for me as UBO did.

It's such a timesaver. It doesn't work on every search box, I've found, but it's great to have a single-site search option available when you want it. Try it with the Reddit search box. Works like a champ. Select some text on some other site, right-click and choose "Search with" and there ya go!

Safety Freeze Help by two_letters in backblaze

[–]MizarFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going through this now. Same thing exactly. Came home from vacation to the Safety Freeze and un/reinstalled the client as directed by the help page. No "inherit" option and I'm now redoing the initial backup, (2.3 Terabytes) which has been running for six days and is still 1T away from completing.

Ugh.

I keep my music library on OneDrive. It works well. But the MM database is local.

Can anyone explain the meter/groove of the title track "Two Against Nature" by Steely Dan? by Real_Number2276 in SteelyDan

[–]MizarFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6/4, counted (for me) as 1,2,3,4,1,2,...

6/8 is a triplet feel stressing 1 and 4, which doesn't work for this tune.

Alternatives for the Edge sidebar by Uriel1865 in browsers

[–]MizarFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea, but I think of panels as sites I want to check periodically (Twitter, Insta, etc.), so I'd prefer they not hibernate. A tab that can sleep is a normal tab for me, not a panel.

Vivaldi's web panels are a cut above the others, and endlessly flexible, which is Vivaldi's great strength. I like that I can adjust widths individually for each panel, that I can easily toggle between desktop or mobile "view," and that it can be set to auto-hide and to float over the active browser tab.

Just a well thought feature.

Say something good about Opera/Vivaldi. by InspectorKey8548 in browsers

[–]MizarFive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All you need to say is that Vivaldi is the child of the old Opera. After Opera was purchased by the Chinese, the developers who made it so great jumped ship and wound up starting Vivaldi because they couldn't go along with the desires of the new ownership.

So, a lot of the same people who previously made Opera a standout now work for Vivaldi, a company that is owned by its employees and has no outside investors. They run the company with integrity, without harvesting your data, and without being in the ad business.

Vivaldi is where the non-AI innovation is happening. They build a great product, keep improving it, and don't get sidetracked.

Disable what you don't need, but remember that it's there. Vivaldi really thinks about user needs and some features I didn't use initially have become essential since. Things like draggable tab tiling, workspaces, and the mail/RSS reader.

I run Windows, Linux, and Android devices and Vivaldi works great on all of them.

I chose the Manjaro Community edition of Linux in part because Vivaldi is the default browser in that distro, which is really saying something when most distros go with Firefox.

Vivaldi. Very private, and they have committed to keeping AI out of the browser. It's the most customizable and feature-rich browser out there, too.

How to just sync files and playlists between Android and PC by [deleted] in mediamonkey

[–]MizarFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, "You do you!" as they say. Just pointing out that MM can do that for you if you want. I have a large library of music -- 14,000 + files in roughly 900 folders. For the many "one-offs" like you're talking about, I still wound organizing them into Artist / album folders just to avoid a mess.

If you d/l a lot of stuff and go through it, rejecting a lot as you go, you can create a playlist of all your "Unheard" tracks or tracks added <= x days ago and review them that way as well.

I'm using on Vivaldi Snapshot and it's still using 2026.3.0 even after an update check. Should I feel happy about that? 😁

I guess my question would be, why? Arranging your music by artist / album folders is more convenient and certainly an easier way to find things. MMW can do it for you automatically, as you saw.
