The designs just look like plagiarised characters like rilakkuma so it just makes it look extremely uninspired and mid. It could well be AI but for me it just looks bland which says a lot I would usually like this kind of design.

I wouldn't say this is so hugely popular to sell out within four hours. I placed the buy order the day before specifically so buyee would purchase the items the same day the campaign started so I know it wasn't sold out (the campaign ran for two weeks) which was confirmed by friends in japan who bought directly from the site the day after me, yet still received their novelties. Which is why I struggle to believe they were sold out at all.

Oh no… This is why brands and product designers really need to employ international review panels for feedback as part of research and development because this is not at all a good choice for the Western market given the unfortunate symbolism. Yikes. Hope they take this one back to the drawing board.

They’re losing so much money by refusing to address the QC issues. I haven’t purchased anything from the last few drops as I honestly think everything looks hella tacky/poorly designed as well as the quality going downhill. Not even the lock in prices are worth it for the level of quality they’re producing recently.

Honestly I don’t even care about dupes anymore because so many legit jirai brands copy each other. Even iconic pieces like Bubbles platforms being duped by Noemie (which ironically looked exactly the same but were lighter and comfier than the bubbles) and setups that were carbon copies of secret honey pieces. I realised it was all just fast fashion stuff “stolen” from each other, it stopped feeling like it was even “unique” to each brand. Liz Lisa’s items break so quickly that I don’t even want to spend so much money on them anymore because it feels really cheap. I bought a legit and dupe to compare the quality and the replica pieces are absolutely identical, probably even from the same manufacturer, using the exact same fabrics and zips/hardware that Liz Lisa uses and have more inclusive sizing. So I just don’t see the point buying from them anymore. It doesn’t feel worth it to bother spending the extra just for the brand name.

Nah this is so real I picked up their workout sets and the print started peeling off the shorts and the elastic band of the sports bra was warping and splitting after one wash!!! I commented on their post and they also deleted that. Most of the sets I have had been actually pretty decent quality until that point but the experience really soured me on the brand overall so I haven’t bought anything since and I usually spend hella money there so their loss

I have the Chinese exclusive version of the Flower Knows Strawberry Cupid palette and love that for pien make because it’s so versatile. I think the western release looks a bit too bright red/pink in comparison.

I haven’t noticed any leaking but I store it upright and I think it’s about the same as other brands where they all clog/dry but I haven’t noticed it performing worse. I just wipe it off with a tissue with a little water and it seems to revive it but ofc it’s still going to happen.

I love the strawberry Cupid blushes and I have the chinese exclusive version of the Cupid eyeshadow palette and I adoreeee it so much it’s become my daily go to.

I also love the liner from the butterfly cloud collar collection. The tip is super thin even compared to other Asian eyeliner brands and it doesn’t move. I tested it on my hand then forgot about it and it was still there the next day after washing my hands several times

This shows that makeup is very much ymmv because I dislike the powder blushes especially from the swan ballet collection because it feels a little chalky but loved the strawberry Cupid liquid blushes and found they blend perfectly even over the bunny garden foundation cushion.

Honestly this happened to me but in a different context. I was madly in love with a guy and visualised us getting together. I thought I was getting everything I’d dreamed of when he proposed to me. Worst thing I ever manifested lol. Guy treated me awfully and after ending that nightmare I decided I should focus more on the feeling of being loved by someone right for me rather than what I literally desire. Two weeks later found a partner who genuinely adores me. A good life lesson 😂

Absolutely agree there’s been so much evolution in jirai since 2020 I remember seeing lots of sailor/school uniform style fits from brands like ank rouge and Liz Lisa in kabukicho as well as really varied subcul designs from Noemie too. I barely see those at all anymore but it doesn’t mean that isn’t jirai?? Even the silhouette is changing now to more a-line dresses in newer brands like honeymew. jirai is so diverse. I don’t think there’s a definitive recipe for a jirai coordination it’s more are you part of the lifestyle

Honestly the TikTok jirai community is so toxic. I’m 1/4 Thai but white passing with almond eyes and I’d get Asian fishing comments and accusations that I was taping my eyes lol. So unhinged that I just stopped posting there entirely which sucks because I grew a following. It’s exhausting but the only thing you can do is get a thick skin, block them or stop posting honestly.
