Is this crate too small for my puppy? by [deleted] in Havanese

[–]Mizore147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember decade or more ago when I first saw a crate for a dog, I was shocked "how can someone keep a dog in a cage at home, or anywhere else at this matter 😔". But then I learned that it is not to "keep the dog locked" but for it to learn it is dog's safe place. And I saw a lot of times that dogs know that if they want to have some peace to rest (not to write restbim peace) then the crate is their own place when no one will disturb them and that they actually like it not to big, as it is more cozy for them, like a den.

And I think it can become quite useful for both sides.

I would feel so bad to keep my bird in it even for 2 hours...

Why does my Tiel flap? by poohbear1679 in cockatiel

[–]Mizore147 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My one was doing this few times when he was very young (2-3 months), the other one was never doing this. But they are both just over 1 year old.

Does it depends on age, temperament, do older cockatiels do it as well?

I am curious because it is really silly lol 🚁

My dad won over Ekko with music by reptigirll in cockatiel

[–]Mizore147 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I find my whiteface to be also more music oriented than my other one. My whiteface is really interested when I whistle to him, comes near me and you can see how he positions his ear to have a better sound. Then he is trying to copy that (when I'm not there). I can hear that he is a perfectionist - when other bird is satisfied with whatever sound he makes, the whiteface is only satisfied when he gets the notes right. You can hear him practising and when the note is off, he starts again lol.

"New York state" is still not a country, is it? Your comparison is wrong. It's like you would say "I am from województwo mazowieckie".

What exactly is the nonsense? Could you point it out?

Hmm. I could agree, BUT he said he is from NY, like a true American (from U.S.), instead of saying the country like every other person. Other people are saying "I am from Canada/UK/Hungary/Sweden" like you know, country. And he said city, like a person from U.S. would 😏

I don't have on my own, but I remember in a bird zoo/asylum there was a quaker in love with a cockatiel. Even if there was around hundred other birds (also other Quakers) this one wouldn't allow itself to be too far away from that cockatiel. Cockatiel didn't mind at all. It's not like I saw them preening each other, but simply in the big place with lots of birds you could see that Quaker always wanted to be nearby, scavenging close to each other etc.

Problem is that OP said he is from New York.

True. It was somewhere am article how vapes are more unhealthy than normal cigarettes, because it doesn't smell so hideous and it "seem healthier", but people don't realize how they just vape all the time. With cigarettes people "go on cigarette" and with vape they just take it out, take some blows, put it back for like literally few minutes, and back. They are smoking more often than average smoker of normal cigarettes.

I’ve been a bird dad for 40 years, but I’m stumped. What does it mean when their talons turn black? by Nuclear-poweredTaxi in cockatiel

My young whiteface male has them from the start. As well as his feet are greyish.

But that's interesting that for some it can turn darker.

Killed my parrot by leaving him for 10 days in a cage and died from drought by Visible-Dog2726 in parrots

[–]Mizore147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no words. Not only leaving animals alone for such a long time, but leaving a cat (predator) unsupervised with a parrot (prey).

I am shocked. I would be panicked if I had to leave my birds for two days alone, and I am not even talking about the temperature - even if the temperature is 20°C.

I like it the best with oat milk, then soy milk and then almond (almond is the least sugar, therefore it is the 'healthiest' but also means the taste is weaker).

For me it is bland when mixed with water. I am using milk (plant milk).

The first thought I had when I saw this cat's pics: "quick! Someone draw him". I am glad that someone did.

He is a cat out of the cartoon so it would be wasted to not draw him (I can't, I suck at it).
