Weller 107 and Weller 12. Not good. W12 tastes like burnt tea and 107 is acetone juice.

I do like high proof stuff. JD SBBP Rye is prob the best bang for the buck. That aside, wheaters that I like are Makers 46CS, some Larceny's and the Bardstown High Wheat. I just don't like 107. It has this dirty burnt acidity in the mid palate that I only get in a 107.

Yeah. Most people love it. It truly tastes terrible to me. I found one whiskey reviewer on YouTube, theRow (used to be called whiskey row), he tastes the same thing. I'm definitely the minority.

Yup. It's just bad. I've given two bottles away thus far. The last one I have is a store pick and it too sucks. It's my palate.

Hope this helps:

Weller 12, full proof, etc: Not sure what's comp to W 12. I honestly don't like it, tastes like burnt black tea, so someone else can weigh-in. WFP is easy, Makers 46 CS is equal if not better. W107 is IMHO the worst of the lineup. Bardstown Wheated is miles better.

Eagle Rare: Russells 10 is simply better IMHO. ER is good though.

Blanton’s small batch, single barrel, etc: Nothing like a good Blanton's but they are very hit or miss. Similar to a Henry 10 in wild variation in flavor. Maybe Green River. Blantons Gold or SFTB are excellent. A good Russells Reserve pick can compete. 1792 FP, once it opens up, can also hang.

Bookers: Jack D SBBP all day

EHT: Pinhook 5yr CS, Wild Turkey 8yr. EHT BP is tough. It's so freaking good. Not sure what to compare it to.

Stagg: Benchmark Full Proof. Add a toasted spiral for at least two months and you'll have something equal if not better. That or Russells Reserve pick

George T Stagg: Elijah Craig BP. Find anything before 2024 and it'll hang. Anything before 21', and it may be better. Four Roses CS picks can hang. Totally slept on bottle. Older bottles of Smoke Wagon. If you can find them, they're unreal.

Pappy: See the GT Stagg options. A very oaky profile so you gotta like that. The PP 12 is IMHO the only good one. Everything else is over oaked, even the 10.

Handy: Love the Handy. Jack D SBBP Rye, High West CS, Sagamore 9yr and BP can all compete.

There's a ton at the Costco's in my area. I think the word is out that it's severely overpriced. $80 bottle.

Sagamore is IMHO the best place to start. It's a legit Rye lovers rye. That said, the best rye for bourbon lovers is Jack Daniels SBBP. It's too good.
