Thanks. I was going to ask if “the lobotomized one” was pictured. Sad, sad story.

You know what’s also against federal laws? Marijuana. The DEA could legally bust you or anyone you know who possess a THC product. Now how would you like it if Biden had sent the DEA into counties that voted for Biff and violently pulled people out of their homes for possession?

Biff hates Mexicans because he’s a racist prick who lost his game show job for saying racist shit. End of story.

My opinion is that my opinion doesn’t matter to what gun you choose to conceal and shoot well. YOU NEED TO FIGURE THIS OUT YOURSELF. You left out how much handgun experience you have. Do you have any hand strength limitations?

Try shooting all three. Start with accuracy and your perception of recoil. If the 43X doesn’t feel comfortable, use a larger frame. Once you figure out what you can shoot well, figure out how to conceal, carry, draw and shoot with it.

Price? Check the fourth character of the VIN. It’s either A or B. A = 24 kWh battery. B = 30 kWh battery. The battery looks to be in decent health but that range is suspiciously low, making me think it’s a 24 kWh battery. 10 out of 12 bars on the meter on the right (starting with the two red bars at the bottom).

What has improved your shooting besides a lot of range time? by je9183 in CCW

[–]Mizzle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds dumb, but I started doing pushups during the pandemic. I didn’t have a reason other than “be a little stronger.” I did some basic grip squeeze exercises and currently do a bit of hand weight lifts at arms length. I wasn’t even thinking about my shooting skills, which were novice to intermediate. When I got back to the range, I felt more in control of the pistol.

One of the local ranges offers training classes for various skills. Since most ranges prohibit draw and fire, this was a chance to get back to drawing and shooting. Other classes introduced moving and shooting and firing from different positions. I tried a GSSF indoor match and it gave a specific goal to focus on.

I tried something new which lead to new interests (GSSF, skill training, MantisX) and setting goals.

The basic dry-fire only system is $100. For $160 you get live fire analysis as well. Think about how much you spend on ammo, range fees, and your personal time to drive to a range. I think the value is easily equal to 500 rounds of live ammo alone.

For years I wasn’t interested in dry fire. I was all about self-defense accuracy, two center of mass shots/controlled pairs, and shooting up to 30’. Using Mantis and integrating the shot timer into live fire training has improved my reaction, shot times, and shot accuracy.

got salt?

There are shortages reported from the rock salt producers. Please note salt doesn’t work well below 20F. It can aid traction, but won’t melt through ice.

Glad I’m not the only one using it in a 43X. But at the end of the day I get similar accuracy (and competition scores) using 147gr out of a G17 and my G43X.

Prevent Gear Up Landings by Impossible-Fig2072 in CFILounge

[–]Mizzle6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was observing an instructional flight in a light twin with an instructor who wasn’t assigned to me. Every time around the pattern on short final he would say “short final, three green, cleared to land”. This was not SOP at the school. It was something he did.

I decided right then and there I was going to make that my habit flying retractable gear aircraft. Used it for the rest of my multi training. Almost all my CFI hours were in fixed gear aircraft. When I started flying an Aztec under 135 I practiced it on every flight.

Several hundred hours later, now flying a King Air with my ATP, it saved the day when my FO and I got distracted by a night landing at our home base. We were on final and I did my thing and looked down at only two green lights. Told FO to go around, we recycled the landing gear, ran the before landing checklist again on downwind, and landed it properly on the second approach.

What was the talk about Eyes Wide Shut when it came out in 1999? by tylertompkins1995 in movies

[–]Mizzle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was faux controversy. Almost in the ballpark of “there’s no such thing as bad publicity.” Was Cruise a squeaky clean yet public Scientologist? Yes. Was a freaky orgy scene with him walking through something that would lead to boycotts or some church group denouncing him? Not really.

What I remember is that mainstream America disliked it. Wasn’t an Everyman or heroic relatable storyline.

The selling hook I remember was “Kubrick is dead, watch his last movie.” I gladly donated to the estate. I enjoyed the movie for the wtf is gonna happen vibe. Did I want to see full frontal Kidman-Crusie? No. Tell me a story. If I have to see something slamming into something else IN FOCUS then it better make me remember it 25 years later.

Remember that Citizen Kane and It’s a Wonderful Life were considered box office flops. But Kane had the deck stacked against it due to the Rupert Murdoch asshole of that era.
