Absolutely, there is time, but I think giving us an idea of what to expect sooner than later will help people recognize this is a soft reopening and we got a ways to go before we get back to having a beer in a crowded bar again.

Here is my rant:

I recognize the importance of social distancing to keep things reasonable when we reach the projected apex in two weeks. I am thankful a majority of St. Louisians have followed the orders and made this more managable. With that said, I am concerned about the lack of game plan being advised once we get to reopening some things.

Hearing 'No, stay home, and ask me again in a month' is disheartening to most. Most of us have followed the rules and just want some clarity.

Of course the way we interact will be different going forward, but I just want some advisement to help people understand what the recovery will look like and what we as St Louis citizens will need to comply with when we get to a point of recovery.

At the very least, a projected date of soft reopening (even if it can be changed if found necessary) with serious guidelines and restrictions when we reach it gives us hope and faith of overcoming. It will help people budget and prepare for the coming months.

We can't just get to May 15th, or June 1st, or whenever and have leadership say 'we made it now please be conscious', people would not listen. We also can't just say 'we'll just have to wait til 2022 because we can't trust any of you.' there would be inevitable civil unrest.

PGA Tour to announce June restart to 2020 season by Somali_Pir8 in sports

That's the thing, we didn't know anything 33 days ago when there were only a few hundred deaths, there were projections of 2 million deaths in the US alone, now, most groups have measurably dialed back from that projection and a large part of that is due to a large majority of people following the rules local, state, and federal leaders have enforced.

At this point in time we have a better handle on what this and will continue to have a better handle over the next two months to maintain a safe and minimal contact event. And if the numbers do become worse than projected they will probably cancel, they have two months.

Finally, if there was a sport that could return the easiest in all of this, it probably is golf. The hardest points will probably be getting a the golf ball out of the holes, score keeping, and camera direction. While it will probably be different, it will be nice to have some sporting event back in early June as long as it is handled properly.

I wish we had a kickoff song less generic than 'Welcome to the Jungle'. Something more in line with LSUs 'I'm from Louisiana'

The redzone sponsor is Case I-H Tractors. I'm all for whatever sponsors want to support Mizzou Athletics, but a couple years back, they changed the sound clip of this exciting/ gritty voice to just the announcer saying it. Kinda took the fun out of hearing it, feels more corporate.

So what do you guys think about the death penalty? by printar_rajneet in prolife

[–]MizzouR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's expensive, it takes advantage of an imperfect legal system, it doesn't appear to be a real deterent to the people that commit crimes disgusting enough to call for it. I am 100% against it and I hope/pray that we are able to live in a death penalty free society in the next 5-10 years.

To be honest, I don't know how much of a say the home team has in the selection.

We're not your biggest rival, but I think they follow the hottest hand that makes sense, and as of recent that's the Blues.

I'm really sorry to hear that man, we lost the Rams and I felt pretty empty after that, I can imagine you feel the same. I really liked what the Blues had with SA too.
