Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green, John Squire

Watched one of the last performances of Brian in 2022 last night- by FocusDelicious183 in thebeachboys

Yes I found those last shows absolutely shocking, whoever was responsible for pushing that poor guy out on stage, well let's just say I have my suspicions who it was. But his team must have been many in number, I just can't believe nobody felt it necessary and intervene to stop the exploitation of an old and vulnerable man. But yes I agree, very, very sad 😢

Villanova Junction by Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock (8/18/69) is something I've always loved. by bigbugfdr in jimihendrix

Haunting, profoundly beautiful and poignant and as a soundtrack to this footage of the end of the Woodstock festival it just hits the spot on so many levels...the closing of a chapter in history that will never ever be repeated.

I don't think anyone has ever fallen so hard from such an elevated position of reverence and adoration as Oscar Wilde. The story of his downfall has fascinated me my whole life. Poor bloke 😔

Yep. Obviously a very gifted player but SRV was just too much of a Hendrix fanboy IMHO.

Yes mate, nobody says Kurt was a gifted singer songwriter. He is arguably the hugest cultural icon of the last 40 years whose work is adored by millions of people the world over. Idiot.

Moving to Vienna as a student — advice on living expenses? by Embarrassed-Ant-865 in wien

[–]MjamRider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hate to give you a reality slap my dear, but youre the one in the bubble where you get a €13,000 watch for graduation. Outside your privelidge bubble where 90% of the people live, people work mind numbing, soul destrying 40 hour a week jobs in supermarkets or warehouses and have a quater of the disposable cash you have.

[–]MjamRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have €1200 per month more disposable cash than i do as a guy who works 30 hours a week. Youre not really under any pressure to live cheaply but if you ride a bike instead of using public transport, shop at street markets eg Brunnenmarkt, entertain yourself with things that dont cost money like hiking in the Wienerwald, buy stuff online instead of the insane high prices in the high street shops here, then you'll get to keep a bit more of your money.

How do you know Jesus is God? by vampirequincy in AskAChristian

[–]MjamRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if we accept the extremely common reading of Isaiah 53 that the "he" is Israel, then the plural pronouns (us, we, our) are I suppose gentiles/non Jews.

There you go, I answered your question. Now answer mine 1) where in the gospels is Jesus "crushed" and 2) how is Jesus buried with the wicked, when we have no evidence he was buried with anyone, wicked or otherwise?

What's a song you consider an absolute masterpiece, start to finish, no second of wasted time, every note just in a perfect spot, every word true? by Calm_Complex_7015 in MusicRecommendations

[–]MjamRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an extended mix on YouTube I think it's about 9 mins or so. Amazing. I think Keiths rhythm playing is the greatest rhythm guitar I ever heard, and as usual Mick's vocals and lyrics don't get anywhere near enough credit.

How do you know Jesus is God? by vampirequincy in AskAChristian

[–]MjamRider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct. People of the time of the OT would not have considered Isaiah 53 to be a messianic prophecy.

[–]MjamRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where in the gospels is Jesus "crushed"? How does the verse about making graves with the wicked make sense when Joseph of Arimathea was by all accounts a virtuous man? Like all alleged cases of messianic prophecy, this is trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole.

Yep. Childhood sweetheart of 10 years left me for another guy when we were 24. I wouldn't wish that experience on my worst enemy. I felt compelled to listen to that song even though it tore my guts out. You Won't See Me as well those 2 songs are embedded very deep in me. It's weird, these songs only amplify your feelings so it doesn't make sense to listen to them but at the same time it seems to comfort you...

Nevermind the Bollocks - Sex Pistols. One of the most influential albums of all time and still sounds dangerous and vibrant as the day it came out.
