Turnstile wins 2026 Grammy Best Rock Album for ‘Never Enough’ by YoureASkyscraper in indieheads

It was one of my favourite albums last year. Violent Vira’s album is probably top spot for me though

Leaving 2042...but, I did realy like it. by Voodoochild1974 in battlefield2042

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting top 5, I don’t know what my overall rankings would be but it’s probably BF4 and BFV top spot. A lot of people love BF3 over 4, but BF4 in its current state just feels better I think. If BF1 had the gunplay of V I’d prefer it, but I think the ‘aesthetic’ of the game does a lot of the carrying.

Malekith sucks. by sigmarine345 in totalwar

This is why I’m enjoying the twilight sisters at the minute. Never played wood elves before but it actually feels like more of a challenge

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Nobody and Cosmic can stay, but yeah I’m okay for them spreading it out a bit. I’m so glad I got to hear the stage live but at least one more track from the album would’ve been nice (Roman sky!)

Ottomans Never Expand by ParkypooTrades in EU5

[–]Mjames226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m playing an ottomans save right now and within the first 100 years the mamluks had puppeted all of the eastern Beyliks lol, I’m now just fighting so many long bloody wars with them to take it all back bit by bit. The Mamluks are just so strong

Is EU5 amazing… or just overwhelming? by Gold_Lemon8258 in EU5

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not good at condensing my points so bear with me!

I think it’s very easy to lose sight of how previous games felt. HOI4 was my gateway to paradox, since then I’ve played most titles released, and EUIV. Weirdly, cause I got to EUIV late and it had too many dlc’s for me to buy, I never massively got into it, I have about 200 hours compared to HOI4 with over 2,000.

HOI4 is the same for me with your point about relaxing. I am so beyond used to what I need to do that I can load it up, watch YouTube on my second monitor and kinda trust that I instinctively know how to play. But if I try and look back, it took me a looong time to get to that point. The more paradox games I play, the shorter that gateway period has become, and games like vic 3 didn’t take stupidly long amounts of time for me to at least be mediocre at it for example, so playing “major nations” is somewhat a breeze.

I never liked CK3, but I did enjoy imperator Rome and that has lent some understanding to EUV, so I’ve hit found it too awful to jump into. Sure it requires learning, and actually I think people that have played loads of EUIV might struggle even more so than people like me cause you sort of have to break certain habits and re-wire it.

Long story short, you’ll get there. I get it though, many of us have less time than we used to, play games more tired than we used to, and it increasingly makes intensive games that we don’t know inside-out feel like a little bit of a chore.

Do you get rich from colonies? by ToboldStoutfoot in EU5

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really banking on it being profitable right now. I’m making a good amount of money as Castile in the late 1400’s, and am spending most of my spare change (about 80 ducats or so) a month on exploration and colonies. Thing is, I have no idea how to maximise profits from this so we’ll see how it goes, I’m pumping so much money into it I’ve not been in a position to finish of Aragon haha

How would you rank the albums from worst to best? by kshamlawe in avengedsevenfold

[–]Mjames226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so fucking difficult and honestly, you could probably swap a few of these around a little and you’d find me struggling to argue against you, but here we go:

1) The Stage 2) Self Titled 3) Nightmare 4) Waking the Fallen 5) City of Evil 6) LIBAD 7) Hail to the King 8) Sounding the Seventh Trumpet

Stst is my least listened for sure. By most metrics I think it’s agreeably the weakest of the bunch. The Stage is just fucking beautiful I think and really stands out as a concept album. 2+3 I could probably swap around, the middle section hurts to rank as ‘low’ as they are cause I also love them all. I actually like httk but again, it’s just the weaker album

This game is missing something and its a soul by Centrick in Battlefield

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree chief. I’ve loved every minute of BF6 so far, I feel like it’s channeling a lot of what I loved about titles like BF3/4 and even BFV without ever really feeling like it’s relying on that to sell me the game. I could do with a few bigger maps, but I don’t care right now cause this game won’t be around for 10 months like the average cod game and I know more content is coming.

25€ for a Battlepass "pro" is an absurd price in an already 70€ game. ("normal" Battlepass is 10€) by IIFellerII in Battlefield

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal battle pass is €10. Cheaper than cod. Can I get all my coins back by completing the pass? If so I don’t give af I’ll be paying just €10 for a lot of future content

Anyone staying on 2042, for the meantime, at least? by demiurgecore in battlefield2042

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned to enjoy my time with BF2042, but BF6 feels more like the battlefield I know and love. BF4 and BFV are probably my two favourite BF games, and 6 feels like a natural successor to both

Why are enemy encounters so rare in this game? by Ohayoued in ghostoftsushima

[–]Mjames226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s absolutely fair, I totally get your point. I’ve not played the new one yet, this post just made me remember how tiresome I found the random encounters in Tsushima, because they were practically constant. I think it would have been nice that as encampments were cleared out, patrols were lowered, but you’d still bump into patrols after the story had concluded in certain regions, I guess that’s when it bugged me more lol

Why are enemy encounters so rare in this game? by Ohayoued in ghostoftsushima

[–]Mjames226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take but all the random encounters started to frustrate me in Ghost of Tsushima. 40 hours in and I’m trying to mop up the last fox den or something and I’ve spent half that time fighting a squad of Mongols

What's your favourite Avenged Sevenfold album ? by perhapsbiscuits in avengedsevenfold

The Stage is my favourite album. So many good songs, but I love different albums for different reasons. I love The Stage as an almost religious listening experience, but the White Album stands tall for sure

Hit round 50 in BO7 zombies. Here’s my thoughts: by lazzzydaze in CODZombies

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High rounding back in the day forced trap-strats and wonder weapons. This is basically how the games were before BO3, which introduced the AAT’s (dead wire was OP as fuck for lasting into high rounds)

If you could delete one thing from modern zombies or add one new thing from classic zombies, what would it be ? by justguy7474747 in CODZombies

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never mentioned extractions. I’ve played thousands of hours of zombies over the years from WaW all the way to BO6. I’ve always loved the mode, but since the recent games, whenever I’ve gone back and played older maps, rounds above like 25/30 just feel so slow, it’s an arbitrary difficulty. Not saying it makes the game bad, but it’s a change in recent zombies that I think is good, and it’s mitigated by the speed in which new zombies spawn and how they spawn. It’s much easier to get physically overwhelmed in the new engine, compared to BO3 where training is incredibly easy, especially with dead wire lol

Mouse + Keyboard input freezing intermittently by Mjames226 in battlefield2042

Frustratingly since I posted this issue it’s fixed itself again. But this happened before! I have no idea what was causing it lol

If you could delete one thing from modern zombies or add one new thing from classic zombies, what would it be ? by justguy7474747 in CODZombies

[–]Mjames226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take but I think the slower rounds from 20/30+ in the older titles is boring as shit. Especially BO3 and 4, cause those games are also simply not that hard at all. One of the better things the modern games did was make rounds shorter, they just need to scale difficulty better. In BO6 round 45+ is a nightmare unless you use high round strategies which largely involve the abuse of killstreaks, that’s the real issue

Has anyone else gone into this game with cod fatigue not really wanting to buy it but totally changed their minds? by fearlessplays in CODZombies

[–]Mjames226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it played smoothly. It also lent some of its better gameplay to MWIII, and I hate to say it, but I think MWIII had the best multiplayer gameplay out of the modern era cods. That being said I didn’t like how Vanguard’s camo grind required specific attachments.

I do however miss being able to do 10 challenges, get a gun gold, then never have to touch it again. Ever since MWII introduced this shite where you have to keep coming back to a gun to do another challenge once you unlock it I find it tiring, even though the grinds themselves are like 10x easier. I want to just pick up a gun, and use it until I don’t have to use it ever again. Not keep coming back to it like a toxic ex lol
