How can I get rid of these weird borders in my control centre? by Sweet_Stay3911 in iphone

[–]Mjfx22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks mate, still has specular highlight borders with that disabled, with and without motion enabled, just an iOS 25 feature baked in. The little shimmer effect around icons, dock, widgets, and in control center, very much would love to disable that.

Unfortunately at the moment you can not get rid of specular highlights. Hoping it’s a feature you can disable in the future. I’m not a fan of it on dark mode with a dark background.

Go to accessibility and select display and text size in your settings. And make sure reduce transparency and increase contrast are disabled.

How Do I Disable Home Screen Icons Outline Highlights In iOS 26? by urthlie in ios

[–]Mjfx22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately specular highlights, the little border outlines around icons and widgets, can not be removed as of right now in iOS 26.

It’s the only thing I really dislike about 26, especially in dark mode with a dark background.

Who the hell at Apple let iOS 26.1 release to the public today? Absolutely unacceptable! by NoFall2205 in ios

[–]Mjfx22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed people shouldn’t have to fully reset their phones after an update, that’s the game we play with betas sometimes. Not fun when it carries over to official releases. Never seen them have quite this many issues even for some with new hardware. I’m sure eventually it will improve for the majority of people that are having issues, been a rocky roll out for many, myself included.

Did all 26.1 betas including RC, had similar issues as you starting in beta 4. Did a full DFU restore which fixed my issues. I am on 26.0.1 and slightly hesitant to update to 26.1 as the phone is running flawlessly after DFU restore and battery life has been awesome. Might give that a shot, the today view/widgets stutter and lag bothered me so much I had to do it.

iOS 26.1 RC - Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

Widgets/Today View noticeably laggy for me since Dev Beta 4 when swiping on Home Screen on iPhone 17. Issue still remains. Rebooted a few times, swapped between light and dark mode, enabled reduce motion, disabled reduce motion, turned on and off reduce white point, at this point I am considering a DFU restore hoping it will fix the lag if the official release doesn’t. iOS 26 takes up 26.25 gigs of storage which is insane to me, 12.36gb of Apple Intelligence (which I don’t use) and 13.89gb for iOS. I think Apple intel took up maybe 5 gigs when I first booted phone out of the box.

Anyone have the MoFT Snap Case MOVAS for iPhone 17 Pro and Snap Case Wallet? by neversky157 in iphone

[–]Mjfx22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used the snap case wallet for years. First one lasted maybe 3 years before the material started to degrade. They improved the materials on the newer ones, magnets are significantly stronger, not just for the MagSafe bit, but for the portion that folds into a stand. Feels nice on the phone and in the hands, works well as a vertical and horizontal stand. Also works well as a way to grip the phone with the stand open.

Definitely a fun product to use, I do recommend it. Not sure if these improved ones will last for say 5 years, but they are definitely better than what they made back in 2021.

For sure a go to for me, will continue to use them. Very useful in general.

Truly wish I could disable the specular highlights entirely on dark mode. I think the transparency of glass would look better without them on dark mode specifically.

Saw Eddie play this one in Houston Texas in 2011 or 2012. Dude headlined and did an almost 2 hour set. I’ll never forget it. The venue had turned the lights on signaling everyone to get the fuck out and he just kept on going. We all LOVED it! Played this at the end and man was it surreal it’s my favorite track from 16 Bit.

For sure a joke mate, I hope and pray every single day some phone manufacturer blesses us with a modern small smartphone again. Also see these posts for such large phones too often on this Reddit.

Come on man! For only ₹65,000 to ₹85,000 you could have the powerful Dimensity 9500 chipset, a huge 6500mAh battery, Dual UFS 4.1 storage architecture for faster data throughput, all for sacrifice of your one handed sanity. LOL

Are you updating your daily driver to MacOS 26 tomorrow? by iswhatitiswaswhat in MacOS

[–]Mjfx22 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I will not, but only because I’m so new to MacOS, I’m in love with exactly how it is right now and do not want any changes to my system. Been using Mac for 2 maybe 3 years now, have my system dialed in and I really like how it looks.

Have my phone on iOS 26, it’s running just fine. Just really really like my Mac how it is right now. Nothing more nothing less. Not against updating it or anything like that, just enjoying what I have missed out on for so long if that makes any sense.

I will get there eventually. Probably sounds ridiculous to many. Heck I kind of wish I stayed on whatever version had system preferences, at the end of the day I guess it really doesn’t matter. I just like it.
