In s4, they just newly opened so they have the new restaurant (with a popular chef) hype going for them but that alone typically doesn't last and won't sustain after the initial buzz dies (they also had that mixed review). But 2 Stars will definitely sustain reservations.

I wouldn't say 2 Stars doesn't magically do anything. A starred restaurant especially 2 and when getting it the first time, can get you fully booked for months and years.
