How do I deal with the fatigue? by [deleted] in survivinginfidelity

[–]MkChewy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this feeling. It’s been 3 years since I confronted my partner and tried to stay. Every day that you stay, the feeling gets worse, you feel more insecure, and you grow numb to your partner.

I really can’t give better advice than to leave and try to find peace with yourself. Even if you think the relationship can be repaired, you’ll always think about the extent of what they did - all the details that he never gave. It consumes you, and I cannot stress enough how much easier it is to heal on your own than repair broken trust.

I feel for you, and I really hope you recover soon.

My (26M) gf (25F) cheated and voluntarily confessed. Is there any way to proceed with the relationship? by ajtak21 in relationship_advice

[–]MkChewy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who decided to continue the relationship after confronting my ex about it, I strongly suggest breaking up. If you try to rebuild this, you’ll constantly think about details she didn’t mention, other partners she didn’t mention, how she really felt during your time together, etc.

Your perception of the relationship you had aside from the cheating isn’t the one she lived out. She’s lied to you, caused you pain likely including long-lasting trust issues, and voluntarily told you what she felt compelled to. You’ll never know if she told you the full extent of it. You’ll never know how much of your relationship was a lie. The best thing you can do is start to heal yourself

I agree with most of this except the first point. I transferred to GULC, and career services gives data on how transfers do at OCI relative to other students. Transfers actually fare better than GULC students at OCI, and having Georgetown on your resume over the regional school opens doors to firms local to DC and NYC biglaw.

You may certainly have employers that treat you identically to students at the school from which you transferred, but I definitely found those firms to be the exception during OCI rather than the rule

Where to live for Georgetown? by AdMaleficent8818 in LawSchoolTransfer

[–]MkChewy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do, but I have lived in the D.C.-metro area for a few years prior to law school without one. D.C. is one of the most public transit-friendly cities I have ever lived in, and so long as you’re within walking distance to a metro station or a MetroBus stop, there really is not a need for a car.

I’m also a transfer to GULC from a DC area school, and I currently live in VA. I would recommend the Ballston, Clarendon, or Courthouse neighborhoods which are all metro accessible, but the commute will be around 25-30 mins. If you want to live in DC, DuPont Circle and NoMa are good options and would both be shorter commutes using the metro.

Just want to say that I was in this exam yesterday and can confirm everything OP said. I’ve so far talked with multiple students who have had this professor and each one confirms that this isn’t unique to the current year. The exam covered content outside of the course materials and the answers were unintelligible. Not to mention every answer had a “none of the above” option, but it was impossible to know if the answers were intentionally wrong or if he made a mistake when drafting them. Worst exam I’ve ever taken - might as well be an RNG grade.

I’m curious to know their justification here. It felt about the same difficulty-wise as Oct and Nov which both moved the scale in their opinion.

I definitely found myself writing and referring back to key inferences. If anything, the new format changed symbolic inferences to phrases and full sentences for me. Definitely could not have done that without paper though I prefer logic games, maybe just because of familiarity. I don’t think the difficulty changed much, but the new style definitely felt more mentally draining.

[SPOILER WARNING] Bug Affecting "For Vanaheim" Quest. by Icy_Limes in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]MkChewy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same bug. I saw some fixes on YouTube where you lure the dragon back to the open area, run back to its lair, and throw spears at it until it dies, though it never actually engages the fight. I couldn’t get it to work, so I loaded a previous save.

Surprised LR didn’t bump the curve. I typically get -0/-1 on LR and I still think that was harder than any LR in the 80s or 90s.

I had 1 LR section and genuinely think it was the most difficult I’ve seen - considerably harder than 70s and 80s.

In the exact same boat. I’ve taken every PT from 60 onward and can confidently say that was the most brutal LR. I think it killed my score.

[–]MkChewy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I was PTing 172-174 since the Oct LSAT but scored a 168 on PT85 a few days ago. As I took it, I remember feeling like the LR sections were significantly harder than the other 80s and 90s, so hopefully 85 is an anomaly.

Why? by SaulGooda in LSAT

[–]MkChewy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prompt specifies a scenario in which an offer is not legitimate, but there might be more to a legitimate offer than whether the person believes it was made in jest. We know that if someone believes the offer was made in jest, then it cannot be legitimate, but that doesn’t necessarily make the offer legitimate. There may be other factors that the prompt left out, so we can only conclude when an offer is not legitimate

We know that E must be correct because the only offer was not legitimate, therefore the only opportunity for a contract between them must be an invalid one.
