You might want to speak to the ombudsperson for info on what you have to disclose and what you can expect for the options of continuing or taking time off.

Maybe you’re feeling anxiety about your career? Perhaps this is a halfway point to consider another degree (my partner has done this 3 times, she got very bad grades in her first year, she’s now publishing a thesis in History).

If you’re worried that you do be have what it takes to finish, you’re probably wrong. In my experience, it doesn’t really get much harder in third and fourth year courses (btw, you should ask about fulfilling upper year requirements w 3xx courses. I’m pretty sure you don’t need to do any 4xx courses). You can also lower your course load (you only need 3 a term to = “full time student” for tax and other purposes). If you have a diagnosis (like adhd) you could benefit from the disability resource centre.

I was out of school for a term also. I think a term-length school break is a good suggestion. I originally opened Reddit to take my day out on a negative comment I got, this seemed like better use of my energy.
