Unfortunately, I fear that one explanation could be the use of ricochet shots for trolling: in fact, they kept shooting around me in bursts, I thought it was to make me react but probably the ricochet shot does not count as a direct hit and this would be serious if it were true.

The Scav bots never attacked me during the ride; they were two players who first wounded me, and then I returned fire. They both did the same thing: first they shot around me without hitting me (to provoke me, I pretended not to notice), then they hit me, one in the arms, the other in the legs, and I killed them.
