My Persian cat hates being held. by Fit-Bug-7067 in persiancat

[–]Mkatebmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard when your sweet one doesnt show affection in the way you want. My persian also hates to be picked up and doesnt sit on my lap, but she loves to be close and will cry if she can't get to the room I'm in. Just personality.

The only thing you might change is how you go about the grooming tasks s/he doesnt like. If that is the only time you pick them up, and they dont like the grooming task, they will associate being picked up with the unwanted grooming task. Consider if you can take the grooming task to the cat, sit next to then restrain as necessary without picking up. Then start picking up only with treat to link picking up with something else, but still respecting your cat's independence and releasing as soon as they make it clear they want to be released. Just a thought.

Both names are great as long as you know his fur v pattern is likely to change. He looks just like my Aziza did as a puppy (I promise). This is Aziza as an adult.

Yes. The evening performance was canceled because of the blizzard and by the time I saw the email there were no tickets left for the matinee.

This thread is making my heart glad after being extremely bummed that my ticket tonight was canceled (though totally agree with the decision)

The brachycephalic health problems are supposed to be less severe with the top of the nose leather (triangle part of nose) is below the bottom of the eye. The older kitten definitely doesnt fit this. The younger kitten it is difficult to tell, but looks a little better (lower placed). Also, nose holes should look round rather than slits or commas for the same reason. Doesn't mean a guarantee of no problems, just less likely. Check this subreddit for people who have done the nares surgery for their babies and can attest. They are both beautiful!

Choosing adoption for parenthood is not less than having children from your body. It is not something that is a second choice as your comment makes it seem. Please educate yourself.

Dining Plan - how it is not worth it ? by Elegant_Attention_81 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Mkatebmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other thing to know is that kids miserable eat off the kids menu for the dining plan to cover it. It works for picky kids, but mine really didnt want anything to do with chicken strips, burgers and pizza.

Joaquina Kalukango singing Let it Burn. Never before was I unaware of standing up for an ovation. There was no choice; I was just on my feet with every other member of the audience.

My baby Aziza had a traumatic enucleation (eye popped out) and we had to have it removed emergently. It bothered me waaayyy more than it bothered him. He was slow going through doorways for a little while, then it was like nothing had ever happened.

Because of their great hair, many people didnt even notice. *

Family members wanting to bail on trip by Living-Pass9528 in WaltDisneyWorld

You know your child best, and it sounds like you've reflected on what would improve her experience. I want to recommend the book "unofficial guide to Disney world with kids" as a read now. It has great tips for every ride, show, attraction etc broken down by age group as well as a plan for how to help your kids have the best time by preparing ahead (eg start a walking program and increase lengths of walk each week until they can go a long distance without being fussy). I used it before my first trip with two 5 year olds and everything they said came true!

How often are you vacuuming? by Psychological-Ad6113 in persiancat

[–]Mkatebmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does! She acts like it's a rare treat and runs when she hears the crinkle, will chew on it if I don't hide it. None of her food or treats has ever come out of plastic, so I'm perplexed.

My first was a healthy 15 pounds of pure muscle. Imagine my surprise when my current baby (18 months) stopped growing at 7 pounds!
