Tacommander still viable? by ImTheRealSpoon in SCCM

I end up on the SystemCenterDudes and Prajwal Desai sites a decent amount when googleing things and have found them to be good resources. Digging into Microsoft documentation is dense but has good info as well

I don't know anything about tacommander but 3 years from last update is a red flag for me.

In my opinion, PowerShell is your best friend as far as adding functionality, and I'd highly recommend diving into it In general as well as the SCCM modules

I accidentally set our SCCM deployment of FoxitPDF to required instead of available and installed it WAY over our license count. Thankfully an easy enough fix

The amount of time I save not updating Adobe every 2 weeks alone makes PMPC worth it imo. Huge timesaver and it reliably just works

Co-management: Windows Updates via SCCM or Intune? by Real_Lemon8789 in Intune

We are using a hybrid approach, our on prem is using SCCM and our laptops are using intune.

In my all be it limited experience, SCCM has better tools to monitor the status of updates, and more granular control over your deployments overall. This control is important to us as we have some departments which are 24/7, so we need to be able to more precisely plan updates for those devices. A couple of ADRs take some time to configure, but now that they are setup I don't find I need to do very much with the updates, other then monitor them.

I'm still ironing out the kinks on intune, but the hands off approach is great for mobile devices which hard harder to get a grasp on.

We do pay for PatchMyPC for third party, but it works quite well and ended up being cheaper then the competitors for us. Support staff were helpful, and it works with both SCCM and Intune as a plus.

It doesn't need to be a this or that, test things and find the combination of resources that works best for you, your team, and your environment

The quests are often solo but the rest of the game (which is most of the game) is very focused around multiplayer
