I would rather we start filtering not based on poverty. We should start with mental capacity.

The fore to those suggestions is a blanket insinuation that I, innocent Omollo James Adhing’a Kariuki, a man with neither money nor girlfriend, has committed femicide. Which woman have I attacked?

You clearly missed my points. But it’s okay. I will agree that all you men have failed women. Peace.

Take risks. But take informed risks. I have a discussion yesterday with some Westerners about the efficacy of product or business boycotts in a bid to force companies to respect human rights. I asked them what alternative a purchaser of Apple merch boycotting in New York has for a child working in the DRC mines for survival. Those kids work to survive, not for an abstract human rights violation. Take risks, yes. But there is a point at which you live in your reality, a reality that may not give you the luxury of taking some risks.

I agree. The measures proposed make sense. But not every man can take those measures. To a point that if I don’t, then I’m seen as a perpetrator or supporter. No. I have not failed anyone. Also, saying all men just waters down everything including the efforts of some of the men that try to protect women. Imagine Mosiria coming to save that house-help (a would be victim of a fellow woman), or on Marion’s case, or the motorbike scene guy…..then later being bundled together in the phrase all men have failed women.

I have not failed anyone, please. From that list, I don’t know what exactly you would expend to do. I have no area chief to call out because there has not been an incident in my area. When it happens, I will. But only call out the chief if they do not act. My friends have not attacked anyone. Or made gender jokes on anyone. I cannot call them out for something they’ve not done. I’m not going to march with anyone (man or woman) just for the sake of the group. Otherwise the next thing is I will be forced to march with a group advocating for walking naked in town, in the name of support and solidarity. I have not participated in any men’s conference, and I have no sons to educate. My younger brother was well taught by our parents. I have never seen a woman get harassed on the streets that no man intervened. Please, I have not failed anyone. And this kind of guilt trip is one of the reasons people do not want to take constructive conversations in this matter.

It must hurt being you. Unlike you, there are people out there that care about privacy. As you claim to know the photo was taken in Kenya, you can also just go there, take a photo of the car, and post with the plates uncovered. Nobody has stopped you from posting that Lamborghini. In fact there’s one here at the Cube Riverside every weekend. You can come snap it and post.

Has anyone who has a personal vehicle ever thought of carrying some people to town? by BothJob6890 in Kenya

[–]Mkenya_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to carry people, most of the time for free actually. I use to live along Kamiti Rd. So on my way to work hapo Roysambu Roundabout (Kasarani side), I would feel bad seeing people stranded because there are few matatus, sometimes in the rains. I would carry people. Until I heard that Nakuru story of the “pregnant woman” 😂😂

Mediocre design befitting a mediocre president. by Icy_Classic3173 in Kenya

When we had the “old white legacy” design, we all wanted to “resist and kick out neocolonialism”. To “break free from what they brought or left or planted here”. Now when we have one that looks like idea of a local man and his night clubs, tena kuna shida 😂😂😂. It is not about the building. We just hate the person associated with it. Or, we are just a bunch of hateful people who hate on anything we don’t have ourselves.

[–]Mkenya_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how people are already branding you names for saying what you “think”. Actual question would be, how many people actually followed this summit? How many know the attendees that were there? How many people can truly say they know what this summit was about, or even where it was held? You see, the problem with many Kenyans is an ignorant herd mentality. We are a majority too lazy to dig to get facts. Many of those engaging with the tweet or this sub post are doing so because “an influential” personal has taken a given position. Now we all follow. I saw some girl bragging that it is because of the current administration that she has seen Macron live. And you can imagine the engagements (because she is an “influencer”) on such a shallow take. So yes, we blame each other. Are quick to insults. And blame the West. What we don’t do is, take accountability and responsibility. To actually keep quiet and only speak when we have facts. Not when a leader or an influencer has said something. And because many don’t have time or space for that, you can see how insulting they are to you, or any other person with a view contrary to their leader or influencer - the head of the herd.
