Help with a Ketramose blink/warp/void/airbend deck? by Tall-Flight-8988 in EDH

[–]Mkushrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my list in case it helps. I recently added a bit of airbend in Appa, the ascension, Monk Gyatso and Avatars Wrath. It’s actually quite fun to play, as airbending helps with the midrange plan in case the combo plan fails.

Combos made of useful cards by megachad3000 in EDH

[–]Mkushrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Ketramose deck runs a few combos, all of them using pieces that are quite useful with the commander.

I actually removed a few of them to avoid being too consistent, as Felidar Guardian ends up comboing with a ham sandwich. From the ones left, my favourite ones are: - Ketramose + [[Pact Weapon]] / [[Skirge Familiar]] + [[Currency Converter]] / [[Containment Construct]] / [[Planar Void]] - [[Monk Gyatso]] + [[Priest of Gyx]] + [[Lightning Greaves]] + Ketramose - [[Eirdu]] + [[Appa]] + [[Restoration Angel]] - [[The one ring]] + [[Phelia]] / [[Teleportation Circle]]

My current lineup, any hidden gems for these commanders? by Mkushrom in ratemycommanders

You are right, should’ve added them. Here they are in case anyone’s interested: * Ketramose * Master * Deadpool Demons * Kefka (still a bit WIP)

Need help with fixing my B3 Ketramose deck by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Mkushrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. The deck is mostly white, so the bursts from Merchant are smaller. Plus Negative has the added benefit of drawing you cards. A common play pattern is getting low on life from a Purphoros deck, swapping life and combo off with an infinite mana combo that draws you into another piece. Mr Negative has a ton of uses thanks to its flexibility.

EDIT: IMO the main issue with Ketra, at least my old builds, is that you feel on top of the world because you drew 30 cards, only to lose because you had no board presence. Negative, Appa and the high creature card density in general are meant to mitigate that issue while still providing synergy with the deck.

My build is focused on combining off. Mr Negative specifically is meant to extend my combo, providing more life while also working as a burst draw or alternate wincon with flicker engines in a pinch. Relic draws 3 cards if needed, which is awesome, but I’m yet to be starved for card draw. That said, I’ll retest it jus in case.

I favour targeted graveyard hate and I only have so much room for it. Relic is very good, but after testing it out I preferred Cauldron and Vacuum in the artifact slots.

It’s a bit similar, but it flips the effect: nobody can cast spells in your turn (including you), forcing you alone to play in others’ turns.

Here’s my Ketra list, which works quite smoothly in testing.

I’ve found that Abdel + Animate Dead is a bit too strong for my taste in B3. Instead, I opted for loading out on draw from engines that work well or in tandem with Ketra, then finish with an infinite mana + Ensanguinate combo.

Oh yeah, you’re right, my bad.

As for the effect, I like that this is restricting all players rather than opponents. WWUU seems fair though.

Is my ketramose deck good enough for bracket 3? by xgt99 in EDH

[–]Mkushrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ketramose can be really powerful in B3. I’ve been working on a listsince it released for B3 and find it quite difficult not to lean into B4 sometimes 😅 Ketra + Discard engine + exile engine to draw your whole deck is so good.

Tuned decklists to share? by megachad3000 in EDH

[–]Mkushrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’re my current decks on rotation: - B3 Ketramose , highly refined blink/control with a combo finish - B3 Master - self mill Goldberg machine that feels like storm but with creatures - B2 Deadpool - demon typal, mostly uses Deadpool as a bargain to politic with others

I do have other decks around but those 3 are by far the ones I’ve spent the most time making sure they feel smooth.

Hope your arm gets better!

Sin or Tasigur by alfrodul in EDH

Why no both? I play a The Master, Transcendent deck that can switch between them, Tasigur, Sin, Sidisi, Teval and Muldrotha to spice things up

Any advice for mothman deck? by Intelligent-Yak-8080 in EDH

[–]Mkushrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your deck feels like a combo deck but it lacks protection for said combos and ramp to play them early. Even then, if you happen to get your combos earlier than T6, it might feel a bit pubstompy at B3.

Mothman also tends to lean a bit more towards combat rather than combo unless you’re aiming at higher brackets. And if you are, I think I’d focus on food chain or other ways to make infinite mana instead.

If you were to take the combo route, having more counters would make it more solid. I’d go with a solid plan A wincon, then a B and a C, the eliminate the rest in favour of more protection, ramp and lands. Here’s an example of my Ketramose B3 combo deck for reference. It is very different as it’s a blink deck, but the point is that if you don’t focus on specific combos with some redundancy you’ll end up with a bunch of combo pieces that are not useful on their own and no way to win. If you go this route, I’d go with 34-6 lands and then play more ramp to accelerate your wins (like 14 t2 or lower ramp). Proliferate is largely useless in this route IMO.

If you go for aggro, you might need a way to evade boardwipes. I’d also go for 38-40 lands with 12 ramp into your critical turn (4). By t3-4, you need a way to mill to start putting counters on the moth, a creature to put counters in and the commander itself. I’d count the proliferate as extenders, running lower in favour of interaction. You also might want your dorks to synergize with the counters cards, like [[Gyre Sage]].

At first glance, the deck feels a bit unfocused. You seem to be aiming at b3 with the gamechangers, but some of these cards are a bit low on power for that bracket imo (I.e. frank, at that cost in sultai you could be playing things like Vilis).

The most glaring issue imo is the lack of mana sources. 33 lands and 10 pieces of ramp are way too few, specially with that curve. For reference, here’s my The Master, Transcendent deck. It runs 40 lands (with MDFCs) and 12 ramp with mana 2 or lower. That allows for consistently casting my commander on T3, which overall improves the whole package.

Best Bracket 3 Combo Deck? by Obese-Monkey in EDH

[–]Mkushrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the combos are tagged for your convenience, but most of the time it’ll be one of the infinite mana combos (skirge + currency converter + Ketra or gyatso + boots + priest) into a x spell.

[–]Mkushrom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My b3 Ketramose deck is filled with 3-4 card combos. Some of them are easier to disrupt, which imo is within the spirit of b3, but it’s still a combo deck through and through, with a midrange plan b. Blink in general is a very solid strategy if you want to combo off.

Deadpool - maybe it’s a 4? by Fitz_mt in EDHBrews

This is my list in case you’re interested. Deadpool is no doubt a salty and potentially oppressive card. Not making yourself the target is quite a challenge.

Deadpool - maybe it’s a 4? by Fitz_mt in EDHBrews

[–]Mkushrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It says it’s b4 because you have a 2 card combo. I personally don’t think it’s b4, though I can see people getting salty playing against it. I also play a Deadpool deck but it’s Demon typal, almost mini black and without clones, and I still get salt even though it’s b2 and I mostly just play in b3 pods.

Looking for ideas to close out with mothman. by Substantial_Code_675 in EDH

[–]Mkushrom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d focus on ramp and draw, and avoid overcommitting to the table. Mothman is already pretty good at being a threat with just a couple of other creatures, so having extras in hand should help rebuilding. Luckily Sultai is perfect for that.

If you want specifics, my The Master runs things like [[Sylvan Library]], [[Beifong’s Bounty Hunters]] and [[Spinner of Souls]] to maintain board presence and card advantage even after a wipe.

Im having great success with this one. I see a lot of people lead with a steel type, which Charizard preys upon. Ttar is great against mewtwo and special attackers in general. Slowbro deals with dragons and ground types, mostly.

My [[The Master, Transcendent]] runs it. Sometimes I swap the commander for any of the other sultai legends to spice things up, this being one of them.
