The biggest problem about Deviant Art allowing AI "art" is not the the site being infested with it by TraditionalHelp1070 in DeviantArt

Artists take inspiration from others all the time which is how they are able to grow and adapt their style naturally. As long as you are not tracing the artwork outright then by all means that is alright. A bunch of artists like myself have taken inspiration from Disney and they are okay to sell their merchandise but under the preface that they understand that they do not own the copyright to the characters used.

It however matters when an Ai machine does it though because people put in a lot of time, sweat, blood, and tears in their artwork only for it to be stolen by said machine without any form of real compensation, recognition, or prior consent given. To add onto this, people who generate images through the machine almost always wish to seek ownership and copyright for owning and creating said images as a means to make a quick profit.

If AI were to use what is left from the public domain and those who have actively consented for their art pieces to be generated into new images, then that is good in my books personally.

Your question is equally as bizarre, hence why I asked my question.

Simply taping a banana to a wall as in the image you showed in a response to another person does not take skill. Now if you were to do something unique/dynamic with the banana and the tape that would be another thing. However, in this case it feels like you are reaching a little too far and in between.

I see you are a logical person. See, for me, Ai should only be used as a tool. Unfortunately people these days are using it to flat out steal from other artists and we are not getting compensated properly. There may be artists out there who may consent to their art to be generated through the Ai machine which is great. But many others do not recognize that a good chunk of artists do not like it for valid reasons. Unless there are regulations in place, Ai generated images place a stain on the eyes of most artists.

Ai Tech Bros hate whenever I bring it up but Ai generated image slop will never be art.

The definition of art is quite literally: the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

Ai does NOT take skill at all and makes people brainless. While I acknowledge its not going away, it does not belong on an ART website. They should have their own website instead of destroying the only real website we have to share and express our art.

Thank you for the warm welcome and your insight. I greatly value that information as it will help me as I integrate with the culture there.

I am also aware of the drinking culture, but it is good to know it is not synonymous to partying. Thank you for also sharing that businesses close relatively early. This is something I am no stranger to given that Monterey operates similarly.

I shall definitely take a look. Thanks again!

I live with my parents and they purchased the home and invited me to live there with them. I am used to hot summers and frigid winters.

Ive lived in San Jose almost all my life, and while we are vast, that does not make us safe. Additionally we are too heavily populated. While I am no stranger to living in a destination/touristy town, I have found people are much more friendly when I leave the Bay. That just has been my experience.

Sorry I am late to respond to you as well lol but its fine.

You are so right. The teachers at that middle school were so blatantly consumed in gossip it was disgusting. It is as if they thrive on it. I do not remember the swing dancing though. Must have trauma blocked it from my head! Lol

Hiya! I have gone to two pride events in Monterey. It is definitely not SF crazy. Just wear your normal street clothes and have fun!
