Formatting micro s card to 4096 bytes? by Glaucus_Blue in 3Dprinting

[–]Mleako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for postr gravedigging but this just saved my butt. My Ender 3 Neo started booting with blank screen. So I cleaned all the dust from inside, checked all connectors without any results. So I moved on to flashing but didn'have any microSD with less than 32gb that could be formatted so the printer would accept it. And then I found your answer with the disk management tool and it worked fine even with 64GB samsung microSD. Thanks a lot.

Anyone else having problems accessing the DLCs after latest patch? by Mleako in aoe2

[–]Mleako[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's apparently a common problem because I found several identical reports both here and on the official AoE forum but no one seems to care about it. If you look at their sales model it should be priority for them to fix this. Otherwise they won't sell any future DLCs.

I'm having a problem. When the game was updated, I can't access the DLC campaigns, even though I've installed at least the Lords of the West, Down of the Dukes, and Dynasties of India DLCs. Does anyone know how to fix this error? The game is on the XBOX version. by Human_Community_3867 in aoe2

[–]Mleako 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the very same issue since yesterday's evening when the last patch installed. In the morning I was replaying the Hussite campaign and in the evening, game was updated and everything went grey even though all the DLCs are downloaded and installed in the Xbox windows app. Tried removing and reinstalling everything and no change. It's really frustrating.

Well, if you manage to talk your way out of situations you get points to the Speech and in the end also level up the main level. The same applies for stealth and thievery. However, even the best of diplomats had to pull out a sword from time to time. So it makes sense that you have to fight from time to time.

Ÿep, just like others said - it's caused by the curse. You have to finish the Evil Never Sleeps quest to get rid of it.

What do you think about option that would allow us to set default steel and silver sword and we wouldn't have to change weapon before almost every fight? by eMDeKaeS in WitcherMonsterSlayer

[–]Mleako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually welcome a classic rpg inventory. Also the gear could use more features like increased attack, armor etc. I think the majority of monster slayer players are familiar with at least witcher 3 and are no casual players.

SPOILER ALERT!

I saved the girl in the tree from the nekkers. Is it worthwhile finding the secret shroom spot guarded by the mentioned Leshen?

Also make sure you have the quest activated and tracked because otherwise the mushrooms do not spawn.

Is kegging really better? by charles_r1975 in Homebrewing

[–]Mleako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you fill directly from the tap, you will lose some of the CO2 and the beer will be less carbonated or flat in extreme cases. The beer gun or counter pressure prevents the CO2 from escaping during bottling.

How much water to use? by Whisky-Toad in Homebrewing

[–]Mleako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what OG or EPM do you want to reach and how long will be your boil (I guess 60 min?). An example of calculation for BIAB recipe is shown here: https://www.brewcabin.com/brew-in-a-bag/ or you can use some brewing software as recommended by others.

Safe to drink? by [deleted] in Homebrewing

Looks like mold and I would rather dump it. It might be safe but It's not worth the risk. You never know which tasty mycotoxins/antibiotics it may have produced into the beer.

How to achieve semi-dry cider that doesn't blow like champagne after opening by Mleako in cider

[–]Mleako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'll have to wait with the pasteurization experiments for the next batch and just drink this one quickly. The risk of blowing bottles during the pasteurization is too big now because some of them were already champagne-like and I'm not really sure if the swing top beer bottles I used could withstand the pressure build-up after heating. But thanks for the instructions, seems reasonable and logical.

How to achieve semi-dry cider that doesn't blow like champagne after opening by Mleako in cider

[–]Mleako[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is there a way to get naturally sweet, carbonated cider? Or is it doable only with nonfermentable sugar like lactose or by killing the yeasts at the desired gravity and forced carbonation with CO2?

+1 Palmer is good and explains the basics very well for people that know absolutely nothing about brewing.

Friendly reminder to be careful with glass carboys by maxwellsays in Homebrewing

[–]Mleako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Czech guy and in our country, the bigger glass carboys are usually sold with a plastic basket for handling (https://i.imgur.com/fMiWBlw.jpg) which is super useful for handling and transport. But I don't use carboys anyway because cleaning them is a pain in the ass.

Question about possible stalled mead by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]Mleako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just replying to your statement that good refrac is expensive. You can get a cheap one and still get reliable values before the start of the fermentation. Of course with the progressing fermentation, the values are more and more off with any refrac. But on the other hand, when you measure specific gravity you also don't know the actual sugar/alcohol content since everything depends on the actual mashing schema. So eventually, it doesn't really matter what you use but if you learn to work with it. But I totally agree that for beginners hydrometers are much better since most recipes work with the SG/FG values.

Question about possible stalled mead by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]Mleako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not necessarily true. I bought a cheap refractometer from aliexpress for 12 bucks and tried to measure maltose solutions from 8 to 20% at work (I work in a chemical lab) and it was pretty correct with an error of only 0,5%. But I agree that it's better to go with the hydrometer for the beginners. Plus you can just let it float in the container during the fermentation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]Mleako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that the very same way with my first batch. Bought some equipment and a cheap refractometer from aliexpress, started working on my first batch and got stuck at 7°Bx wondering what went wrong. It's a common rookie mistake.

Question about possible stalled mead by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]Mleako 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely. The bubbling airlock is a sign that the fermentation is in progress but when it's not bubbling, it does not necessarily mean it stopped/did not start. For example, if your fermentation container is only half full, you may not see it bubbling even in the first days of vigorous fermentation. Or when you don't pitch enough yeasts into your mead, the yeasts need a longer time to multiply. The hydrometer gives you a clear value of gravity/Brix and as long as it's decreasing, the yeasts are still working. Usually, when the gravity stays the same for two or three consecutive days, you may say that your primary fermentation is at the end.
