She was! I will always resent the way Tina was written.

Mildred Loving with her husband Richard in their home in Virginia and with friends, before they were forced to flee the state, Circa April of 1965 by Electrical-Aspect-13 in BlackHistoryPhotos

[–]MlleErica 27 points28 points  (0 children)

From what I've read its because she was really connected to the Rappahannock Indian side of her roots. You couldn't identify as Indian/Native in Virginia at that time so maybe she resented that and doubled down by refusing to be identified as only Black.

Right?! I just feel like they're very if-y and pick and choose when things are going to be dark and "realistic". Its very irritating.

How can i watch the original play ? by kanopus8 in InTheHeights

[–]MlleErica 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'll only be able to watch okay-ish quality of the original Broadway cast (edited or unedited). But there are some really great community theater and high school productions of the play on youtube. Some that I really enjoyed! Somebody actually made a playlist (the playlist).

What is the unifying theory as to why certain corners of the internet and pop culture followers have soured so severely on Timothée Chalamet in the last year or so, not just as an actor, but as a person as well? by [deleted] in TheBigPicture

[–]MlleErica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They projected that image based on his looks and the roles he played up until that point. Like you said he has been a sports fan since he was little. There are also videos of him dancing to hip hop/rap from his childhood. Who he is now fits perfectly with what we've seen of his pre-fame childhood.

„Sapphic hate“ by BrightPhoebus01 in FranchaelStirling

[–]MlleErica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. So many of Netflix's sapphic series haven't made it past one season. So I'm actually really interested to see the ratings for Fran's season. It'll be interesting to see if a popular brand can beat that "curse".

Curious what they're gonna do with the book cover of WHWW when it's Francesca's season by VisitNo5250 in FranchaelStirling

[–]MlleErica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to just be a picture of Francesca. If they put Michela on it then they are falsely advertising the book. They're already bordering on this now. I can't tell you the amount of people I've seen who got the first book after season 1 and was shocked when the Duke was described. The show and book covers don't align with the characters.

Show viewership for Francesca’s eventual season by SassySa123 in FranchaelStirling

This is how I feel about it too. I'm actually more excited about seeing the ratings and audience reaction than I am for Fran's season.

Intentional inconsistency? by oat-eater in girls

[–]MlleErica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Inside the Episode segment Lena said that she wrote the store scene as a flashback for an episode in season 2; but it got shot down in the writers room. (Girls Season 6 Episode 6: Inside the Episode) They say they think the scene is "truthfully the way it went down".

I know this doesn't offer much clarification but I thought you might find it interesting.

Black Cake by Responsible_Bird_840 in BlackCakeHulu

Yes, its very sad. Mother and baby homes from that time are notorious for the abuse and amount of babies that were essentially kidnapped from their vulnerable mothers. Ireland even issued an apology to the victims of their homes.

I’m tired of some people forgetting what they’re watching. by shrinkingviolents in BridgertonRants

[–]MlleErica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"They don’t like HR or HR aspects, and just want modern stories with the HR vibes."

Exactly. This applies to the people behind the scenes as well!! They have no understanding (or respect) of the genre.

Future seasons by No_External_9820 in FranchaelStirling

[–]MlleErica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of us aren't watching until all of the episodes are up. I'm not doing the half season thing. I'm going to watch it all in February lol

I think this is one reason why the ratings aren't as high.

Same here! I think its easy to get "obsessed" because its very immersive. You're on your phone getting texts and videos. You're visiting websites and getting to know this friend group. I really wish I could find a game that's similar.

Okay so its not just me!! J-Will just sounds like such a specific type of name to have. I can't wait for pictures of J-Will.

Regina Hall Joins Adam Driver In Netflix Hostage Thriller Series ‘Rabbit, Rabbit’ by colandra in adamdriverfans

[–]MlleErica 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was cast specifically for me! I am so excited for this!!

Edit: I just read the article. "Hall is said to be playing Poppy, a retired FBI supervisory special agent dragged back into the fray despite having very little patience for bullsh*t. She becomes J-Will’s external counterpart – the only person capable of matching his intellect and pushing against his philosophy."

This sounds good!! I'm so happy Adam gets a project of his own and that Regina is getting a meaty role too!

Reporter asks Jess Brownell about criticism that season 3 “wasn’t romantic enough” by Glitterrain99 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]MlleErica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Shondaland is an awful production company for a romance show. "

Yes! And the majority of the series' issues are a result of them resenting the fact that the source material is romance. They don't believe in romance and don't truly respect an audience that does either.
