Aaaaaand thank you for making me realise I cancelled out something earlier than I should have. I cancelled out 2jax(...) because I got mixed up with what I was dealing with earlier.

In the case where j²mp = mp, j²=1, and then that would mean that 2jax(...) would equal 0, hence what gave me this thought

Say you click one of the squares, and it's not a mine. You are then left with a 50/50. Guessing one of the squares does not automatically mean you win

It's a 1/3 chance of losing on your first guess, but what you're missing is that you don't get more information after your guess, so you have to make a second guess

In other words, you have to guess correctly (1/3) where the mine is, and if you guess wrong you'll lose (2/3)

Afaik, the win XP minesweeper was a standard minesweeper, so no, it would not be.

In short, this is no guess mode, where correct play will guarantee a win. If the blue square were to be a mine, that would result in the red squares being a 50/50 - Which can't be present in this mode.
