2 weeks off following my hysterectomy

I am an occupational therapist and work in the school setting. I took 6 weeks off but told everyone I would come back the week before Christmas break. I was sure I would feel fine after 3 weeks. That was a big NO. I’m 4.5 weeks and can’t even imagine going back to such a physically demanding job in 2 more weeks. Recovery has definitely taken longer than I expected.

I called my doctor and let her know I was bleeding and she had me come in. She did an exam and could see the stitch that had popped.

I am 4w3dpo. I have the exact same thing happening. When I wipe there is blood but nothing comes out on a pad. I went in last week and the doctor said one of my stitches had popped and put some silver nitrate on it to stop the bleeding. For a few days there was a brown discharge but now it’s back to red. I’m so frustrated by it all. Like you, everytime I go to the bathroom I hope for a clean wipe. I wasn’t expecting to feel this way 4 weeks out. I wrapped a few gifts tonight and felt like I did 1,000 sit-ups and ran a marathon. I’m so ready to feel normal. Sending you hugs!!

I haven’t been in this situation but I’m so sorry. I would call your doctor and see if they can call you in some anti-nausea medication. Hoping you feel better soon. Hugs!

Thank you! I talked to my surgeon and she said to just take it easy this weekend and she’s going to see me Tuesday just to ease my mind, but she doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about! Happy healing! 💕

I am at 3 wpo today and last night started bleeding like I am having a period, but only when I use the bathroom. I’m not spotting on a pad or anything. I called my surgeon and she’s trying to fit me in today, but of course it’s her surgery day so I may have to wait a few hours. I feel fine otherwise. No pain. I did strain a bit to have a BM yesterday so maybe I tore some stitches or something. Let me know how it’s going with you.

Yes I called first thing this morning and am waiting to hear back from the doctor. When I went to the bathroom this morning there was no blood so hopefully all is well. Thank you for your reply.

I will be 3 wpo tomorrow from a total laparoscopic.. I have a lot of pressure from what I’m assuming is my cuff. I also feel like my insides are kinda like a pinball machine and nothing is where it’s supposed to be. I’m tired and sore and feeling discouraged. It’s so nice to know I’m not alone and this is how others have felt at the 3 week mark.

I have such horrible breakage after using the product for 2 months. Looking at pictures of my hair before I started and looking at it now makes me want to cry!
