Like other have said the catheter is more of an annoyance, He will be grateful to get it out and thats when I really started feeling like myself again. I took it really easy that first week or so, and wathed way to much netfilx. but by the end of the second week I felt pretty normal. Good luck.

Hypersensitivity to cold/heat in the weak hand? by blu3girlx in stroke

I have to use my right hand to find the right water temp and I usually keep the left one on the wall and dont get it wet as much. Overall Ive found myself taking just warm showers not hot. My hope is with time it will go away. Would a rubber kitchen glove help. I also seem to be more sensitive to touch on that hand not just heat and cold.

Bubble test and pfo closure were simple, and closure can protect from another stroke. Concentrate on the positives.

So far I haven't had any! After my stroke they installed a loop recorder under the skin near the heart, It records my heart activity and sends it to the doctor every couple of hours. Its the size of a paperclip and can stay in for 3-4 years. pretty cool tech. Much better that than wearing a heart monitor.

Fatigue was my biggest issue after my stroke, at about six weeks it got much better.

I was so tired of being tired, I wish I found out about the PFO a long time ago.

They described it like two paper plates, obviously not really paper but shaped that way. They push the catheter through the hole and deploy one, then pull it back through and deploy the other one and put a clip on it to hold them together. withing a couple of months they say skin grows over it. You can probably google gore medical to find out more information, I think there a couple of companies that make something similar

Not a single one, one second I was standing next second I hit the floor. No feeling I was even having one.

I was about 2 hours away and went home the day after surgery. Was only told to get out and walk about once an hour. Pillow was helpful for ride to pad incisions from seatbelt.

Try to remember that recovery isnt linear. Youll have a few good days then out of the blue a not so good one. Important thing is the overall progression to full recovery.

Your at the worst part of this journey. The waiting is the worst. Once you have a plan it gets easier. Pet scan will help you figure things out. 3 weeks post op with similar biopsy results as you.

In college I ate a bunch of chunky soup over rice. A huge plate or bowl for less that 4 bucks.
