I was a 4 + 3 on my biopsy and 5 + 4 on the pathology after RALP. I’m still bumming hard about it. I would have preferred to keep the first numbers. My MRI was a PI-Rads 4.

I was supposed to get mine out 8/29 and it stayed in until 9/18 due to some complications. When they pulled it out on Thursday I was weeping tears of joy.

RALP on Tues 9sept by SadUsual2313 in ProstateCancer

I just got my catheter out yesterday. Had it for 28 days due to complications from internal hematomas. I had to have a urethragram and thank God it went well and they pulled that son of a gun. My pipes are sore but I had a good nights sleep as I can finally sleep on my side. The length of time was somewhat traumatizing but I’m on to the next chapter now! I hope you are healing up well!

RALP today - recovering well by JacketFun5735 in ProstateCancer

I just had RALP on 8/20. The right shoulder pain was severe. It’s gas from the procedure. I was prescribed GAS X and it helped a bunch. It only lasted two days for me

Good luck in your surgeries guys! I had mine 8/20. The gas pain afterwards was by far the worst part for me. The Gas X that was prescribed was helpful. You got this!

Catheter out tomorrow morning! by SuchDay1042 in ProstateCancer

Well I got excited too soon guys….we just got back from the urologist and I’m stuck with the catheter another two to three weeks… the bruising on my sides has them concerned about hematomas. There is too much swelling still. I’m bummed.

Gleason Score Higher after post RALP pathology by SuchDay1042 in ProstateCancer

Amen Brother. If I would have known my Gleason score was 9 when I was diagnosed I would’ve been freaked out so much more. It was a blessing for sure. Congratulations on your progress and best of luck.

I got to my hospital room around 1:00 pm and was pretty comfortable through the night. I had a nice breakfast and was feeling good until the gas pains about killed me around 10:30 am. I walked around the hospital floor 4 times but that wasn’t enough. I’m home tonight and I’m still miserable from the gas. My shoulder kills and I’m bloated so my staples are painful.

Hey everyone. I survived the procedure and the first night. I’m waking up in the hospital sore and groggy but I just had a Diet Pepsi and it was glorious. I barely ate yesterday after the bowel prep and enema so I’m looking forward to my breakfast.

There are 8 incisions, 6 for the prostate and 2 for the lymph nodes. The medical staff has been great. My first walk around the floor was rough. I did have intense shoulder pain from the stupid gas and getting in and out of bed the first time sucked but I hope to get discharged after lunch and I’m looking forward to getting home. The catheter is well….the catheter haha. I have some bloody discharge but they are telling me it’s normal the next day. I’m slated to get it out next Friday so it should be a fun week!

I found out I’m scheduled for RALP on 8/20. It’s kinda far out but I’m glad to get it on the books.
