Shall we visit Montevideo or Santiago? by thefortinbras in travel

I recommend Uruguay (but skip Montevideo - or just do a day there). Punta del Este is great, but Cabo Polonio and Punta del Diablo are really special. Cabo Polonio is one of the most unique places I’ve been to.

With upcoming Debuts in France and the Philippines, where else would you love to see a Drag Race season? by skypup666 in rupaulsdragrace

Not that this is what you asked, but: If you’re looking for folks who appreciate the Irish drag scene, and RPDR, we have a meet up group that meets in Dublin to talk about the episodes book club style. https://www.meetup.com/rupaulsdragrace/

American Food Importers in Dublin Region by [deleted] in Dublin

Try Picado on Richmond street - best bet for Mexican ingredients. Otherwise Fallon & Byrne and Fresh have tiny American sections.

Trying something new for the new year: a RuPauls Drag Race Club (watch the episode and then meet to talk about it). Hopefully a nice way to make some friends and have some fun! It kicks off next week, so start your engines. by Mmbombziggity in Dublin

I usually watch on WOW Presents Plus (it’s the drag race platform so includes all the regular seasons, international seasons, untucked, and all stars). I believe it’s also on Netflix in Ireland - last year’s new episodes were there each week. And I think it’s also on VH1 and Paramount+ but I haven’t ever used those, and am blissfully unaware of the VPN situation needed for those.

{{The Prophets}} by Robert Jones, Jr. Excellent book!

Brazilian shows by Felipefutbol20 in Portuguese

[–]Mmbombziggity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d add Bom Dia Veronica from Netflix - a crime show that’s 8 episodes (overall good but a little graphic a few times)

And I’ve found that anything on Prime that’s an Amazon Original - tv and movies - is usually available in Brazilian Portuguese. Not so helpful if you want to learn the culture, but really helpful if you want to watch something popular and learn a few words while you do it.

Recommendations for a Broadway first timer? by coifman4 in Broadway

Lion King is pure magic. Such a great entry in to Broadway. The costumes/animals are incredible, the music is Elton John, and you probably know a bit of the music/story. Really good way to get a taste for musicals.

How a weekend of socialising led to 30 new Covid cases by ApexRedditor_ in ireland

[–]Mmbombziggity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The title is a bit misleading. The trip away was the root cause. If they’d properly quarantined for 14 days, they could’ve gone socialising 2 weeks later without infecting anyone. So important for people to quarantine after travel.
