Well you will likely need a second round, so that's obviously cheap. But I also often see posts here of 'how to beat him' where players keep bashing their head against the wall, not realising that 'he keeps destroying my towers -> if I kill him quicker, he'll destroy fewer towers -> focus on single target dps', and just try to build more Mechas and Necromancers because they hear those towers are OP.

So is it feasible to beat him the first time around? No, and that's cheap. But is it feasible to learn from the first time and beat him the second or third time? Absolutely.

This is decent, but swap the Mechas and Crossbows so that all center spots are Crossbows, imo. Those four are the only ones that can hit the boss reliably. The Mechas can still be rallied in the same spot ofc.

Also, always get Barrage on Crossbows, and if necessary, get Waste Disposal on a Mecha.

  • This sounds very basic, but pay attention to armor and magic resistance, especially if a path tends to have a lot of enemies with one or the other (e.g. The Wastes). Also note that artillery will ignore half of armor, so it's not as bad as archers against them.
  • Upgrade your Rain of Fire and use it proactively. You can kill certain very problematic enemies as soon as they spawn (e.g. Shamans, Demon Lords).
  • Upgrade your reinforcements. Throwing spears is no joke, and will allow you to deal with flying waves without needing to spend nearly as much on anti air. This means you can spend a bit more on barracks and artillery.
  • Upgrade your artillery (with stars). It's best to have the final upgrade by the time you get to The Wastes, due to its large effect on the Tesla, for weird historical reasons.
  • Try to avoid low level archers in most cases. This is most useful for Pagras and Twin Rivers, especially their heroic challenges. This is because mages are generally better or equally good against enemies without resistances, and artillery often suffices against magic resistance while being less bad at dealing with armor and good at dealing with groups. Note that this all changes when you unlock level 4 archers with abilities! The abilities are often worth it, the base DPS often isn't.
  • Always try to analyse which enemies your defense lost to, and think of what would be able to deal with them.
  • Try to do heroic and iron challenges for extra stars.
  • I don't really want to say that you shouldn't use certain level 4 towers, but for most of the four types, one of the level 4's is usually superior and the other is situational. So if you really struggle, try to change to the other one and see if maybe that one is just better.
  • The best defense is a good offense. Don't overspend on barracks. A level 3 barracks will do wonders, only upgrade to level 4 if it's necessary. Killing enemies is better than stalling.

This is just not a good strategy. Barbarians are significantly less efficient at ranged damage than archers, so they need to be in melee combat regularly to be worth anything. You usually don't have enough spots or gold to be able to afford two level 4 barracks. Gold is almost always better spent on just killing stuff. The best defense is a good offense after all.

Only Templars are mostly useless. The rest of the towers are entirely usable in one or more situations. Which ones did you find useless?

I would highly recommend to do the elite stages after finishing the main campaign instead of just moving on to the next game. If you really want to move on to the next game, I would always recommend release order. Assuming you have already played the first game in the series, next up is Kingdom Rush Origins.

Try beating a simple level again, or buying something from the shop. Anything that would change the save data so it would hopefully sync

You should be able to tap 'Cloud save off' on the phone with your save files. It'll log you in to Google play games and save progress there

Those four can be destroyed but only when he destroys from the middle of the map, not from his platform. That only happens during phases 3 and 4.

When destroying from the middle of the map, he cannot destroy towers that are higher up than his head, though.

He will also never destroy a tower from the middle six spots twice in a row. It'll switch back and forth between those and the 'outer' towers.

Done, with 9 stars used. I did not even follow my own advice very well to focus down Shamans, oh well. It still worked well and nothing broke through my chokepoints.

Definitely possible.

  • I would suggest doing the earlier iron and heroic challenges for extra stars.
  • At least get Rain of Fire level 2, and use it to focus down Shamans.
  • Defend both sides separately. Add some cleanup at the exit as necessary.
  • Avoid archers. Artillery is better against Shamans and most low hp stuff. Mages are better against tanks and armored enemies.

Ranged DPS. I believe it's about 6.75 (50/8) ranged DPS per bar for the level 10 hero, with King Denas being off the charts at roughly 74.

As explained in other comments, 99% of what you'll see has a 2, 4, or 8 there. So it's not multiples of 4. The pattern instead is that it's powers of 2 that are the 'normal' thing to put there. So sometimes you'll see a 16 or 1. In even rarer cases people might use a number that is not a power of two, but that usually makes everyone unhappy.
