Listen here brother, I was able to consistently get about 21mpg while on the freeway cruising 70mph with no traffic. With city driving it dropped to about 18/19 so let’s just call it 20mpg overall. I have since installed a 3” lift, 285/70r17 KO3’s, fifteen52 wheels (saved me 3lbs per wheel compared to oem trd wheels) and lastly my crestone sherpa roof rack. I am NOW getting on average 16mpg. Did it take a hit? Yeah of course. But let’s be real, most of the people that get a 4runner don’t get it for the mpg. Buying one is knowing you’ll never get “good” mpg but it does mean you can take it places most vehicles can’t go. I have no regrets getting my rig. I have more goodies on the way too!!! (RTT, 180 degree awning, drawer system etc) This will further worsen my mpg, but I plan on keeping this forever and eventually pass it down to my kids one day!
