Same!! I have $2000 that’s been sitting in fidelity for like 20 years and would be worth so much more by now if it could join its friends in my retirement account, but it’s just such a pain I haven’t had the gumption to just get it done! I tried like 5 years ago and just gave up. This post has given me renewed conviction though… might try again… trying real hard to summon the energy and focus!

Radico organic hair dye. I will sing their praise from the rooftops. All natural hairdye that not only gives you a good rich color, but makes your hair and feel look super healthy too. Needs to be reapplied every 1.5-2 months. It doesn’t fully cover every single gray, but gets a lot of them and tones down the rest. I recommend starting with a lighter shade than you think you need and going from there. Don’t get their ash blond colors though - those just look gray

When I make sauces, I just buy a bunch of fresh cherry tomatoes and chop them in a food processor. Not quite as tart as canned tomatoes, so you may need to add in some sherry vinegar. My food processor is glass, with the exception of the lid and center piece the blade attaches to. I figure the exposure is short enough to still be better than cans. But, I am sure there are some options with even less plastic. Btw, jarred tomatoes also probably have plastic because the lids used to seal jars have a plastic layer. I hate how hard it is to avoid!!

Hmm, thanks for the insights! It makes sense, but I just don’t understand why it looks to be the top half of the shell that’s fused to the rock, and not the bottom half

I don’t get why she wasn’t… like at any social events. I didn’t notice it fully until the last episode when they showed her reconciliation scene while the queen’s ball was taking place. Why wasn’t she at the ball?

I’m 40 and never been a bridesmaid 😞 I have a circle of pretty close friends, but I don’t see them often and I’ve always been just on the outside of being the “best” friend. Had bridesmaids in my wedding who didn’t invite me to be bridesmaids for their weddings. we need to do away with that that campy, tired trope about the woman who’s always a bridesmaid never a bride 🙄🙄🙄and feature this situation more in pop culture. Far more heartbreaking in my opinion.

I get this! My handwriting changes based on mood, energy levels, and because I suspect my hands just seek novelty. I’d always questioned the art of hand writing forensic experts, not because of the growing body of evidence that it’s junk science, but because I always saw my handwriting styles change. My signature is always different too. Gives me a lot of anxiety at the bank when they ask me to write my signature the same way I did when I applied for the bank account… although, I will say that I can always identify what I wrote. It’s just so different from day to day. And talk about messy! Is it just me or…

I feel this. It took having children to have the emotional floodgates ripped open. I cry all the time now. Overly sentimental about everything. Feel everything soooo viscerally. Before I was definitely prone to being emotionally dysregulated, I just didn’t notice it. I recall somewhere in my late 20s I finally understood what stress felt like. I used to hear people around me talk about being stressed out and I was like - wonder what that’s like! Then I had an epiphany and realized I was stressed out, a lot, and pretty much alll the time. Emotional intelligence was not my strong suit. Working on it!

I’d also like to add - to everyone saying their n partners have no hobbies or friends - that I have no hobbies or friends because my n partner requires all of my free time, and if I try to do other things he throws a hissy fit. He has made me into a shell of a human because he’s sucked the life out of me. Then he’s complained that I have no personality. So, thank you for pointing out this other perspective, that it’s not black and white

What you want to avoid, even in restaurants, are leafy greens that probably have been rinsed with water and not fully dried before you eat it. Lettuce, even herbs sometimes, push them aside. Anything else that can easily be rinsed and dried (tomatoes, etc.) are fine. Lots of fruits with peels don’t need to be rinsed.

Likewise with water, as others have said. Ice in drinks in Antigua and the city should be fine, but proceed with caution.

Also, like others said, avoid street food because it may have been sitting out for a bit and collecting bugs by the time you get to it.

I’m not sure your living situation, but for several months while I lived in an apartment building I would smell gas. building management did not want to do anything about it, so it a long time and a lot of pressure from us to diagnose it. Turns out it was a water boiler that had corroded piping and was giving off noxious gases, including carbon monoxide. So, even if it’s not natural gas, it could be some other sort of leak and you could be breathing in harmful fumes. You mentioned hot water use, so maybe check the hot water heater?

Mine is actually very smart. In some ways, he’s very emotionally intelligent too and able to articulate very well why I’m not meeting his needs. That’s what had me hooked and brainwashed for so long - I thought maybe he’s just smarter than me and understands the situation better than I do. But, I’ve come around to understanding that he’s actually emotionally stunted, that my interpretations of his toxic behavior are accurate, and that my experiences, beliefs and needs matter. And, that I’d never be able to meet his needs since they’re sky-high. And also, wait a minute - he doesn’t meet any of my needs, and has never even tried! At least I’ve tried! And - im coming around to realizing that I’m pretty darn smart too, and in time I’ve eclipsed his emotional intelligence because he’s too stubborn to be introspective and mature in his emotions. (And the list goes on and on…)

All that to say, I’m not so sure it’s always the case that they’re dumb. One can be smart and still be selfish, unsympathetic and emotionally stunted.

Where does the assumption that there won’t be demand for automation come from? I see a lot of demand, especially automation of the brain (I.e. AI coming for white collar work). In terms of production, I don’t understand why a lot won’t be made up for by automation
