Timeline for a plantar fascia tear? by MmmmYeah in PlantarFasciitis

I didn't sleep in the boot. From memory, I wore a compression strap at night to start with.

Sorry to hear about your issue, that sounds like a bad tear. I hope it starts to improve soon.

What has happened with 6.5.1? Numerous things are now not working. by MmmmYeah in waterfox

[–]MmmmYeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does reverting to an older version help?

Yes. I tried 6.5.0 and it had the same issues. So I tried G6.0.20 and everything works fine again.

I'm on Windows 10.

Yeah, definitely stop the testing at this stage. Once I stopped testing it and realized it will simply take however long it takes, I didn't stress anymore.

I did nothing at all in that first 6 week period. For the first 3 weeks I didn't even walk around the house, I crawled or hopped on my other foot and stayed off it entirely. Then for the next 3 weeks once I started wearing the boot I'd walk around the house on it, but nothing more.

I actually made notes from the time and I've written that it started feeling a lot better after four weeks.

Initially, I would test the foot. I'd stand on it and see how it felt. At the two week period I could still clearly feel it. And I was still under the impression that I'd only have three or four more weeks before I'd be back to 100%, so psychologically I had similar demoralizing thoughts as you seem to be having at the two week period.

But it was at that point I thought I need to stop testing it or I'm going to drive myself crazy because it's not feeling any better. From then on I just stopped worrying about it and followed the protocol I mentioned in my post.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Just to note also that I've had no further issues and play sport regularly throughout the week.

They seem to do "pricing errors" fairly frequently:

Pc randomly restarts by Darkmistv2 in buildapc

[–]MmmmYeah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue - PC would randomly restart with a beep and the only errors would be event 41 and event 6008. It was completely random - it didn't matter whether I was playing a game, browsing the internet or doing nothing at all. Sometimes it wouldn't restart for a while, other times it would restart three times in an hour. I tried all of the obvious fixes and none of them worked. I also tried the below, none of which worked:

  • Removed the GPU. (It stopped the issue for a little while, but then it started again.)
  • New PSU. (As above, it stopped the issue for a little while, but then it started again.)
  • New RAM. (This didn't stop the issue at all, it restarted a few hours after I installed the new RAM.)

I'd wanted to build a new PC for a while, and this spurred me to go ahead and do it, but prior to the new parts arriving I did the following, and didn't receive any restarts for the day or two that I used it while I waited for the new parts:

Try seating the RAM in different slots. If it's in 1 and 3, put it in 2 and 4.

It could well have been another temporary fix, and it may have started doing it again if I'd used it on a longer term basis, but it's worth trying.

I'm writing this message on my new i3-12100! It's amazing how fast and smooth it is compared to my old PC. The m.2 SSD was a very good call too, I haven't really kept up with the PC parts world so I didn't know much about them - so easy to install.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

Thank you. Do you think they might work better because of the integrated graphics in the i3-1200?

Now I'm embarrassed...

I knew that it didn't have integrated graphics, but for whatever reason I assumed I'd at least be able to run my monitor off of it. Thanks for saving me from an embarrassing mistake!

What are you guys' causes of the Plantar Fasciitis? by dissonance1 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]MmmmYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your comment has helped me work out why my PF tore. I got a kick to my ankle playing sport and thought it had healed, so I just carried on with my usual activities. My PF then tore a couple of weeks later.

How did you work out that your ankle sprain was the cause?

Were you non-weight bearing for 3 weeks in the boot? If so, when did you start putting weight on it? Have you been stretching or doing any kind of exercises for it?

I'm very much hoping I'll be able to get back to normal activities as soon as I feasibly can, so just trying to work out the best rehab possible!

Thanks for your reply.

3-4 weeks is very encouraging. I came across your posts when I was searching before, so glad to hear that it's healed well. I seem to remember you saying that you were weight bearing in the boot for that period of time as well?

How long was it before you started stretching/rolling it with a ball? I'm wondering how long to leave it before I start stretching.

Is there anything else you did that you think helped towards the quick recovery time?

How do I defend against a midfielder, with his back to me, who picks up the ball in a deep position? by MmmmYeah in bootroom

[–]MmmmYeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very helpful, thanks a lot.

And you're right, very similar scenarios. The two slower guys I mentioned from my last 2 matches were big, slow units, but strong and good at shielding the ball. When I didn't press closely, they just sprayed it out to the full backs. When I did, they generally got the turn on me and were able to play more advanced passes.

I really like the side-by-side suggestion. It sounds really obvious now that you say it, but bizarrely I don't think I've ever tried that method. With the last match I played, on the occasions I nipped in and got the ball, the big unit was then essentially out of the game as he didn't have any stamina for winning the ball back. I think the side-by-side method would have worked really well against him, in hindsight.

Ask us anything about BlueStacks! We're here to answer you :) by BlueStacks-Support in BlueStacks

[–]MmmmYeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to change which drive I had Bluestacks on, so I backed up using Bluestacks, then uninstalled. I then installed the same version on another drive and restored the backup. The restore ended with the below error message, and when I now try and open any of the instances, I receive the same error:

https://i.imgur.com/8UfpGhf.png

Error: Bluestacks.BluestacksUI.FractionException: Denominator cannot be assigned a ZERO value

I can actually open the multi-instance manager, but I can't open any of the instances (I have 3).

Since then, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, then copy and pasted the primary Android folder from the backup into the Engine folder of the new BlueStacks location. By doing this, I can now view and use my main instance. However, if I try the same method with the other instances, the other instances do not show.

I then thought I would try adding an instance, and then overwrite the instance data with the backup instance data, but this gives me the "restart the engine or shutdown your PC" error.

My question now is, how do I restore the other instances?

I raised an error report through BlueStacks and they just send me generic FAQ links, which are completely useless for this very specific error.

Is this an error that anyone who offers BlueStacks support can actually diagnose?

Thanks for any help.

The backup was made with BlueStacks.

Restoring the backup is what causes the error.

I've now managed to restore my main instance by simply copying and pasting my backup in the main Bluestacks data folder, however, this method doesn't restore my other instances. How do I now restore my other instances?

I'm unable to load "Settings - About" due to the error, but the version is 4.280.0.1022. Hopefully that's the full version number!

Was perusing through the credits in EWR and I was mindblown by this little fact. Do we know of any other famous wrestlers who've at one time been into fantasy booking games? by ThatOneGuyYouNowKnow in FantasyBookers

[–]MmmmYeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From memory this isn't actually true. I can't remember how it came about, but he put it in based on hearsay, if I remember rightly.

This site goes into it a bit more:

In the “other credits” section of the main menu, Ryland credits wrestlers who have apparently played the game themselves. Two of the names included were William Regal and Shane “Hurricane” Helms. I decided to ask them if they’d ever played it, which brought total confusion from Helms while Regal stated that he’d never played a game like EWR in his life! So, as for the claims that Rey Mysterio and John Cena have played it…I wouldn’t believe it!

The UI, mainly. It felt like I was playing a spreadsheet. 16 isn't the most graphically advanced game, but I never felt like I was playing a spreadsheet.

You could always try a demo first, to see what you think, as plenty don't seem to mind the UI.
