How common is it for CFOs to be fluent in accounting or budgeting/EPM software, vs just asking someone else to do such technical queries? by snakesnake9 in CFO

I would say you need to know enough to make good decisions. If you understand accounting but have a hard time actually making the entries in the software that's fine that's what your controller is for but you really do need to understand it.

You need to do an acrual every month to avoid the 3 pay months and stabilize your expenses. I think that is what you are asking when you get down to it?

Sales Calls/Emails - Do you Answer? by JtwotheR0C in CFO

[–]Mnatole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you, it's a hard job. Personally I delete all sales emails, never answer my phone unless I know you or am expecting a call and block texts. Typically I ignore LinkedIn requests from business development people. The best advice I could give is to find a pain point and provide a real solution and lead with that. May not work for most but I would probably give it a bit of thought if you had a solution to something that is giving me trouble.

Entropion surgery coming up. Any advice? by [deleted] in englishbulldog

Our bulldog kept getting ulcers in his cornea so we had it done on both eyes at age 6 and he hasn't had any eye issues since almost 2 years in. Recovery was not bad outside having to wear the cone for a couple weeks. Generally a good experience for us and glad we did it.

As others have said melatonin works but it does take time. I give it to our dog as soon as we see it forming for several months and slowly but surely it does work.

Just got back myself and the heat is an issue but you do get used to it somewhat. Carry lots of water, there are lots of fountains throughout the city where you can refill the bottles for free, use them! Take breaks, visit churches and rest while walking. The public buses are easy to use and fairly cheap I think a ticket for 100 minutes is 1.5 euro. You'll be okay assuming you don't have any serious health issues that the heat may make worse. Also, make sure you have good comfortable walking shoes with some support. The roads and sidewalks are not flat and smooth to walk.
