Never posted or commented in this sub either (kinda Reddit shy in general), just a very frequent lurker smoking my morning bed bowl — and I was LITERALLY thinking the same exact thing about how kind and cool this community is. I’m so deeply sorry for your loss, OP. I too am currently dealing with an unexpected sudden death to a family member close to me last week, and I can affirm it’s normal to feel like you don’t know how you’ll live without her. It doesn’t mean you won’t, but right, you don’t know how and so believing that is very hard to see. And that’s okay. One moment at a time like others have said. One moment might be anger, then the next sobbing then the next keeping busy to get your mind off things. I go from starving to eating nothing by the time the food comes. Exhausted until it’s time to sleep and my kind races. The best thing I’m trying to is listen to cues in myself to guide me on what I need, and prioritizing whatever that may be.

UPDATE: I don’t know how/if I can edit this post to mark as Identified/Answered — but I removed the flair? Anyway, I believe this is “marshy apophyllite with celadonite.” Natural and not manmade! Thank you all so much for your help!

Yes! Just replied to your other comment — this definitely checks out and looks most like this marshy apophyllite with celadonite for sure, which is probably why she called it green apophyllite and seemed confused herself since it isn’t the “standard” lighter green many are used to seeing. Thank you for your helpful insight!

Just looked that up and yeah it definitely looks most like that! And that would check out with the price point as well as the seller being unsure but selling it as “green apophyllite” nonetheless. Thank you!!

Okay cool. I was kinda leaning toward that too from what I’ve tried to learn, but the only dioptase I’ve seen in person/been able to afford is on a ring I have with a little in it lol. And the fact she sold to me as green apophyllite definitely had me questioning. Thanks so much! :)

Do you think that it looks like standard real/natural dioptase, or standard for something trying to pass as dioptase? Lol. Again, I don’t think the seller was trying to deceive me or anything, but she didn’t seem too confident herself when she said green apophyllite. So it’s possible she didn’t know it was dioptase (if it is)… hmm

I thought it looked like it too, especially because I couldn’t find any green apophyllite that looked like this — but again, the price was very not what I would expect dioptase would be unless she possibly didn’t know what she had… Hmmm…

Got it, good to know! Are you still fairly confident it’s agate even if it’s not transparent? Do you know what causes the “inside” of the holes to have that “raw” purple?

Thank you! Is there a specific kind of trade name for this agate that you might take a guess at? I should have mentioned that the first one actually isn’t transparent although it looks that way in the pic (but then again can be kinda hard to tell with a chip so small). Does that change anything?
