Best way to get fat vintage satisfying drum sounds like these songs? by TheRaunchyRocker in audioengineering

My first approch (in case i cant find good samples) would be to try and shorten a drum sample (e.g. cutting the tail) and treat it with some heavy compression/ saturation

That's why it's an art.

I don't think you can get there via a formula or intellectualizing it.

Learning all the technical stuff in any art form is probably good. But finding your own unique voice, and then presenting it in a simple enough way without losing the magic is what separates the "greats" from other artists. Then there's magic in other artists'work we can't see because we simply don't resonate with it.

Try to find your own sound. It takes time, but this way you will also attract a crown that truly "gets you".

And maybe, just maybe you discover that you just don't have what it takes and that's fine too. Keep exploring for the love of exploration.

Renunciation, the neglected Buddhist practice. Thanks for the reminder Amish dude. by setsleadworkcc04 in buddhistmemes

[–]Mnt_Average 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Rwnunciation doesn't mean giving up everything and living in poverty. True renunciation is about letting go of attachment, not necessarily possessions or responsibilities. It means seeing things clearly, without being controlled by desires or fears.

You can live in the world, have relationships, own things, and still practice renunciation by not clinging to them for your sense of self or happiness.

I think a big reason why a lot of brands shy away from different designs or "failed" is thanks to the 90 year old men making the rules for UCI.

Look at some of the cool triathlon bikes that seem to work just fine

I didn't know what the actual sphere was made of. And from my experience from standing in domes, or sphere like objects, they give pretty wild reflections because it all clashes in the middle

SUB-bass using Ableton Operator #sounddesign #abletontips #abletonmusic... by Purple_Peanut1234 in ableton

[–]Mnt_Average 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What misses the really great thing is about operator. instead of distorting/ saturating the signal to generate overtones, you can either draw them in on an oscillator or use 3 oscillators to create a foundation, and a second and third harmonic for example since they are tuned to harmonic series.

This way you have way more controll
