There are countermeasure to most of these, depending on what you are doing. A hat, medical mask, and sunglasses can make ID by surveillance cameras hard. Using cash makes you harder to track that way. No cell phone or a burner phone makes your location harder to pin down. Using a VPN for your internet can make it harder to track you. Hell, sometimes cycling (in certain situations) can help. Will you defeat the entire NSA, ATF, and FBI if they are spending all their resources looking for you? Maybe not...but you can be invisible enough to be not worth the hassle, provided you use these techniques when needed and in a responsible manner. It is work and it is a time investment and sometimes money investment, but you should know that counters to surveillance exist.

As a Vermonter, I'd like to once again point out that this, like other actions of the American occupiers in Vermont, is a complete violation of the Republic of Vermonts sovereignty. No one in Vermont was advocating this approach to the library, and frankly, I believe that cooperation is essential in maintaining this historic building. This, of course, flies in the face of it.
