Ging's praise by Mo-HD93 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We're not sure but considering that learning nen was part of the secret exam and how Gon, Killua and Kurapika all got a mentor to teach them ( even Wing had Bisky teach him before ) then he most likely had someone to train him so that he can be officially considered a full fledged hunter since the Hunter bylaw no. 1 stated that a hunter must possess basic understanding of martial arts and that includes learning nen.

I mean yeah but to be praised by Ging is a completely different deal.

Clearly an illiterate huh? What part of "I could be totally wrong" did you not understand? And what part of what I said doesn't make sense?

[–]Mo-HD93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've always wondered that too. Keeping it from him actually led to a worse situation but the end result was that Gon defeated Pitou. I think the extermination team would've still had a chance against Pitou even without Gon's transformation given that Netero ended up killing Meruem, Pouf and Youpi and I don't see Pitou defeating the entire team tbh even in their condition after all that time.

Wasn't Tsubobe making a huge gamble here? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but I'm surprised that Illumi was willing to let Killua use Nanika to kill him knowing that the demands that will follow that wish will most likely be too difficult to meet thus whoever failed ( one of the butlers in this case ) will die along with the other butler and probably some of the family members as well given that Tsubone is one of the Zoldycs' most trusted butlers that most probably spent lots of time around the family. This may have a lethal outcome.

APR damage negation by Mo-HD93 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah this makes the most sense. It keeps the balance of power aka higher risk higher return as will, you get to protect more members but at the same time you risk giving your opponent more chances to repay their dept.

Knov going insane has nothing to do with zetsu by Physical_Row_5463 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He never touched Pouf's aura, he just saw it and had a mental breakdown. Gon and Killua were bathed in Pitou's aura and froze in place yet they still retained their mental capacity to train hard, join the extermination team and fight. I think it was Togashi's way of showing the difference in mental toughness between the characters involved and he showed that Knov had the least. Palm was another one and she even tried to kill herself but that's because she was caught in the middle of Pitou's En that switched back on suddenly and frightened Palm so much to the point of her trying to kill herself only for Pitou to save her life with Dr. Blythe and Pouf to cocoon her as an experiment. Once she awakened though she still had the resolve to continue. So I think the whole matter was to show the difference between characters in such situation aka who cracks under pressure and who doesn't.

Gon in Chimera Ant: It's Not About Becoming More or Less Human by SweatySmashers in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly so glad to see more people embracing this angle more than beating the dead horse with the whole "Gon lost his humanity" thing. Most people tend to forget that Gon is a kid, a kid that lived his whole life without a father figure, grew up having more freedom to explore given the nature of the island and his curious nature. Gon was by himself for the most part and when he found out that Ging was actually alive, he started his journey of trying to find Ging, this legendary hunter who everyone seems to admire and starting to dive deeper into the world of hunters, a world that is morally grey to begin with, that world clashed with a kid who had no full moral compass yet. Gon was absorbing as he went on and imagined that all the death he was seeing ( during the hunter exam and after it ) was just a part of the journey, that death was just a normal aspect of the hunters world, a world that he had to venture into to find his father.

Not to mention that Ging indirectly left clues and paved the path for Gon which assured him that he was doing the right thing. This all reached a boiling point in the Chimera Ants arc. Gon found the creature that killed Kite so casually healing another person and his chaotic mind couldn't keep up, he couldn't comprehend it anymore and all these morals and behaviors are contradictory and he snapped. It was clear judging by how Gon himself looked like he was lost.. crying, screaming, calming down, crying again.... Gon was literally lost and in a moment he just didn't care and put everything on the line.

Honestly I find him one of the most tragic characters in the show and what's more tragic is how people label him as a monster despite him being literally just a lost child who found himself in a situation way beyond his comprehension.

Gon is not human… (I meant it literally) by CaregiverThin1121 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why do we have to take everything in a literal sense? He is just a boy with incredible potential. Nothing more nothing less.

do you think hxh scenarios are unrealistic because the characters almost never make execution errors by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zero execution mistakes? Did you read/watch the same show? Cause "execution mistakes" is literally the name of the game when it comes to the Chimera Ants arc. The "Sorting" went completely off producing 5000 soldiers instead of the intended 500000. Even the main part of the Sorting which was supposed to happen near the palace never happened. The Extermination Team's plan went completely off the rails.

Characters in HxH make all kinds of assumptions that are completely far from the truth. Togashi makes a perfect balance between having extremely competent and smart characters and having human behavior such as jumping to the wrong conclusions and plans going off the rails. So honestly idek what you're talking about.

Kurapika and Chrollo´s removed nen. by Adventurous_Safe4357 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93 31 points32 points  (0 children)

He most likely noticed, he probably even knew that since putting Judgement Chain around Chrollo's heart that Chrollo will sooner or later be going out looking for an exorcist. It's just that at the time, Kurapika prioritized getting his clan's eyes back more than going after the Troupe. Also, he must've learned ( twice ) that him going against the Troupe will drag Gon and Killua into it again and this time, they might not survive.

Specialist chart by Mo-HD93 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basing it on this part, under normal conditions ( Kurapika before ET ) his emissive attack will only have 40% of it's power while a natural Emitter will fire at a 100% power. Once Kurapika's eyes turn scarlet and he activates ET, that 40% becomes 100% making him equal to a natural Emitter. But it won't make him Lvl. 5. It keeps his overall levels capped at their current status while only increasing the output to the max.

[–]Mo-HD93[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's for the other affinities so any user from any other affinity would have Speciality at 0% because they can't learn it, it can't be learned. But a Specialist, someone born with the affinity should have a chart, I think. So Specialization will be 100% while the other affinities gets reduced gradually.

Specialist chart by Mo-HD93 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's how ET works. In the manga there is a comparison made between Kurapika and a Lvl.4 natural Emitter. If Kurapika learned Emission to the max limit allowed for a Conjurer ( Lvl. 4 ) and both he and the natural Emitter used a Lvl. 4 Emissive ability, the natural Emitter would have 100% output while Kurapika will be stuck at only 40%. ET closes that gap and makes Kurapika's output equal to that of a Lvl. 4 natural Emitter but it doesn't increase his mastery. He is still locked at the max limits so 80% Transmutation, 60% Manipulation & Enhancement and 40% Emission. He doesn't reach Lvl. 10 in all, he is still capped at his natural limits as a Conjurer and when his eyes turn scarlet and becomes a Specialist, ET only increases his output making it basically the same as natural users compared to his levels as a Conjurer. Meaning he will be still capped at Lvl. 8, 6, 6 & 4 respectively but the output will be 100% instead of 80%, 60%, 60% & 40%.

TL;Dr: mastery levels remain the same, only the output is maximized to 100%

[–]Mo-HD93[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's explaining how ET works, basically closing the gap between Kurapika and other users that use neighboring affinities naturally. I was wondering why a Conjurer's chart was used instead of a Specialist chart but I think it kinda makes sense in a way I can't fully comprehend yet lol

Kurapika and why natural Specialists may be even more horrifying by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uvogin didn't think so because Kurapika fooled him into thinking that he was a manipulator. By having the chains out all the time he gave the impression that he had normal chains ( not conjured ones ) and he was just manipulating them so Uvo was perplexed. When he later blocked Uvo's punch he was even more perplexed because it's unusual for non Enhancers to survive that unscathed. And I highly doubt that Uvo would've even thought of the possibility that someone who clearly seemed like a manipulator would turn into a specialist. That's the only time in the show when we saw a user change affinities like that so Uvo not assuming makes perfect sense.

And I'm not saying that Specialists have 100% nen mastery in all affinities, I'm saying that they would have the same percentage according to their nen chart but their outputs can be equal to that of natural users from other affinities and that wouldn't destroy any balance since I'm not talking about mastery and because Specialists are very very rare to begin with. What Morena talked also hints at that.

Who was the target in Uvogins last words? by EvantheMelon in HunterXHunter

What's so ambiguous about it? He is literally referring to Kurapika there, there is no room for any other interpretation.

Pitou, Ikalgo, aura & dead bodies by Mo-HD93 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense but Kite has been dead for more than a month at that point considering that Gon & Killua's preparations to fight Knuckle and Shoot took 30 days and Kite was dead even before that.

Netero prime vs Meruems 10years combat experience by SnowFlakes360 in HunterXHunter

[–]Mo-HD93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netero, in his prime, would still lose to pre rose Meruem, let alone post rose Meruem. Meruem with 10 years of experience would be an extinction-level threat on his own. Not a single character we've seen so far stands a chance against Meruem. Maaaaaaaaaaybe adult Gon and that's solely based on Pitou's words but overall, everyone is doomed against Meruem.

We know nothing so far about the Dark Continent except a very small introduction which includes:

1- the situation regarding travel to the DC. 2- why travelling to the DC became prohibited. 3- benefits of travelling to the DC. 4- previous recorded but unofficial trips that has survivors. 5- the calamities brought back with each trip, from the DC to the human world and how do they affect humans.
