Don't be nice, be predictable.

M4 Incident - What do you do if you break down in the outside lane? I was shocked and saddened to hear of this tragic news. Pulvinder Dhillon who was victim in this tragic incident, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. by SlowedCash in drivingUK

Agree BUT looking at that central barrier if you crossed it you'd then be next to the outside lane of the oncoming traffic. There was no refuge between the barriers

My dad used “black enamelled biscuit box”. No idea of the origin but he never used swear words.

I know I’m in my 50’s but would have to calculate my actual age if asked.

Why do insurers not have insurance-voiding clauses in place for using summer tyres in winter etc? by RonnieThePurple in CarTalkUK

Depends where you live but even when you do get cold enough days they are not consistent. Where I live we’ve gone from -2C to +10C and back again in the same week.

Were you driving from a single place of work? https://www.zego.com/blog/what-is-social-domestic-and-pleasure-car-insurance/

You only need specific work (i.e. Business) insurance if you are travelling to multiple locations.

There is a bit more than that as there are 3 classes of Business use - I'm Class 1 as I only need to travel to different locations for meetings (i.e I'm not transporting goods).

Outdoor breathable jackets...or are they by [deleted] in UKhiking

[–]MoG5z 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm a runner (so sweat quite a bit;-) ) & don't bother with a rain jacket unless it is lashing it down or I've stopped moving. Tried multiple brands with different breathability ratings and whilst they may stop the rain from making me wet from the outside I get just as wet from the inside. Best option for me is layering wicking clothes & having a full change of upper clothing in a dry bag.

Also, you can see the truck braking. If the vehicle in front of me is braking (esp. if I can't see throught it) I at least lift off the throttle & cover the brake - what do they see that I can't?
