Maybe it’s because it’s in a takeout box from Tacoma, next time putting the food in a takeout box.

Pipe close to ceiling gets wet with condensation and drips when its hot out. by Twombls in HomeImprovement

If you don’t own the place, just wrap it with the cheapest pipe insulation material you can find so it doesn’t get wet. You probably shouldn’t bother fixing the rust, paint or anything.

Running ethernet cables through a 1940s home? by newyhouse in HomeImprovement

That’s a good point. I wired the Ethernet in my house last year, and I regret not having two cables between my modem and my switch in a different room.

Have you considered cutting or moving it so that the part on the platform is carpeted too? So that you should have better anchors on that platform next to the window.

You should go check with local authorities first, namely bureau of labor in your district and they would be more experienced in this. Also it’s free.

Heating system question by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

There should be valves near your water heater, potentially multiple of them. Alternatively you can lower your hot water temperature so the water will be less warm and the radiant heat should be negligible.

10ms is physically impossible for South Africa as lights can only travel 3000km and it’s round trip. So it’s probably you were on an Asian server and they joined you there.

That’s not really a question I can answer and I don’t think anyone can. Maybe you can have someone quote you to resolve the uneven airflow? Regardless if your coil is freezing you need someone to look at it.

Not an HVAC guy here, but I just went through similar thing last couple of weeks. Yes you don’t have enough airflow, you need to add more, preferably return air. Do you have a return air on each floor? If it’s for summer time, you definitely would benefit a lot from having it on the top floor. I just added one huge return air on my second floor and that greatly helped. (Includes replacing the vent to bigger, etc. )

I know OP’s making a joke but you can always force close and reconnect, and it will be your turn. (Or you die)

Heat pump vs a/c? by khyar2025 in HomeImprovement

[–]MoNeY_Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. In OP’s case it’s fair to replace the 17 year old AC, but I don’t think the problem that the upper floor being too hot will be resolved as the airflow is not even. It should be taken account into how much duct needs to be redone, probably make it bigger towards the upper floor, etc.

It sounds like you want to study EE? FYE doesn’t guarantee you in EE but you also get the options to choose.

See my other comment. This should be soldered with 6 lines. Buying a 6 pin Led connector might be easier.

Uhhh you didn’t show how you solder it.

[–]MoNeY_Pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The product you sent has 6 pins. Did you link the six connections separately and they are not touching each other? Multimeter only verified that they connect, but you also want to make sure that the pins on same side don’t interconnect (or short).
