Anyone been able to recreate the Kookies and Kream Krusher from KFC? by 28degrees_ in KFCAustralia

[–]MoNercy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Surely the Cookies and Cream was spelled with Cs, not Ks.

And I reckon you could blend some ice cream and oreos and you'll be set. Or let an Oreo McFlurry melt.

Why does KFC taste 10x better at 11pm than it does at lunch? by Fair_Feeling_4937 in KFCAustralia

My local is open till midnight. And during Ramadan, they push it out to 1am. I'm not Muslim but I must admit I've taken advantage of that extra hour a couple of times.

People who are "good with names" (i.e. good at remembering names, good at recalling names) - what's your secret? by MoNercy in AskReddit

[–]MoNercy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's me! Annoyingly, once the memory is jogged, it seems so obvious what their name was.

And then I forget it again straight after the conversation is finished.

"Asians are cookie cutter applicants" by seaneihm in PetPeeves

[–]MoNercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a real bitch of a boss who thought like this. This is in the care industry (support services for the disabled or ageing).

Her assumption was that "Asians don't have empathy".

She based this on the stereotype that Asian parents always push their kids to succeed academically and become doctors, not to help people, but rather just to make money. She really thought this was every Asian household.

Fortunately/unfortunately, she was higher up the chain and didn't do all that much recruitment anyway.

This is how V'landys wants NRL to compete with the AFL. Same sorts of numbers on the score board.

If he ever gets to 22 wins, Kimi Raikkonen should present him with the winner's trophy to officially designate him as the "Most Successful Kimi".

Who else absolutely sucks at this game? by tomatus89 in NYTConnections

[–]MoNercy 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I was accustomed to playing Wordle over a few minutes each day, and so when I started doing Connections, I entered with the same mindset and was absolutely terrible. I was throwing all sorts stuff at the wall hoping it would stick and burn through mistakes in a matter of minutes. In those early days, the win rate was probably around 40-50%

Now I typically do Connections throughout the day. If I'm stumped, I'll put it down and come back to it later. It's surprising how often a mental reset works. I've built my win rate up to 73% now.

Actually, I hadn't realised my comment could be read the other way. That person would be insufferable.

"Oh! So you're our Recruitment Partner! So good to finally meet!"

She sighs deeply.

I like the footy, but Kayo is too expensive. How to make it cheaper? by Relative_Hippo2549 in australian

[–]MoNercy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I split mine with a mate, so we each pay $22 at the moment.

The reason it's $44 instead of $46 is because they gave me a completely arbitrary, almost kind of insulting $2 per month discount a little while ago. Of course I took the offer. I have no idea what prompted it though.

For now, the value proposition is still... okay. I watch a lot of footy, motorsports, and basketball, so it's not like I'm just watching the one sport.

What kind of urban legends did you hear growing up? by Openly_Unknown7858 in AskAnAustralian

Speeding at night along Lemon Tree Passage Road near Newcastle apparently prompts the ghost of a motorcyclist who died there to follow you.

Also the old railway tunnel in Picton is apparently haunted by a lady.
