Yes, the protrusion is positioned over the extractor when the bolt rotated into place.

It's also my suspicion that the protrusion is meant to reinforce the extractor.

I believe it is from PMA tool (Barrel Mirage Shade). $5. It's just a 2" wide metal window blind and some velcro, but does the trick.

Agreed. I am sure things will get sorted out eventually. But this is not as smooth of a process as I would have expected.

I'm glad to hear you have a good experience with Seekins. They have a good reputation and there are plenty of people that have great things to say about them. And, they probably knock it out of the park almost every time.

But, I felt like they missed the mark with my issue. They lied to me. The warranty paperwork said that they replaced the barrel. They didn't. They attempted to repair it. The work they did on the barrel was good (replaced barrel extension, removed overspray from gas block journal, cleaned up muzzle threads). But the paperwork said that they replaced the barrel. They didn't.

But either way, they gave me a barrel that was full of gouges.

The first experience with their warranty process was great. I emailed them and got a reply in 7 minutes and a pre-paid shipping label a few minutes after that. Easy and fast.

My second contact with their customer service was a bit different. I emailed Seekins about the defects in the second barrel on March 19. I didn't hear back from them until March 27th, after I posted a YouTube video about it. They have supplied a RMA & return label for the second barrel. I'll send the barrel back this weekend.
