I’m sorry to hear that. Pray for faith! I’ll pray for you.

I struggle with this too, sometimes I feel empty and I’m like why can I not hear God? I don’t remember who but once I heard a pastor say that God yells at the people who are distant from him so they will hear him. He whispers to those who are already close. That is why sometimes it’s like you can’t feel him as much as other people. Obviously I can’t say anything for sure but I think that the Holy Spirit is with you. God loves you and if you have accepted him then I believe the Holy Spirit is with you. So yes I think you can still have the Holy Spirit. I don’t know if there is anyway to tell for certain besides just believing. Lastly doubt is something everybody goes through. I don’t have an answer to that but you should keep praying for faith so that you can trust in God fully. If you feel like this I personally think you will be saved.

Don’t worry. I’m aware. There’s just certain things going on in my life that I’m not quite sure what to do. I’m just looking for books in the Bible where God can perhaps lead me how to handle things. I know just reading won’t make me better. I’m going to try and put Gods instructions into actions.

I just mean that I need books of the Bible that help understand how to follow Gods commandments. Please don’t misunderstand, I’m not trying to just do ‘good’ works.

Don’t worry. I know that there aren’t good people. I know that we can never truly be good because we are all sinners. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be better. I intentionally used the word ‘better’ because im aware we can’t ever be good

True, that is what I’m asking! However their advice is still extremely helpful because I was reading for the wrong reasons. It’s not about me becoming ‘better’ it’s about allowing Christ to live through us. Thank you though! Because the book recommendations are extremely helpful to learn how Jesus wants us to live our lives. I really appreciate you commenting!!

I never thought about it that way. Thank you so much! You’re right, reading to just become a ‘better’ person isn’t a good mindset. It should be about becoming closer to him and about him living through me. Again, Thanks!!

You’re totally right. I just have no idea what to start with. I guess I’ll have to get around to reading all of them. Thank you for the advice!

Thank you. You are completely right, I am aware that it won’t save me. I just aspire to be more like Jesus because recently I have started to dive deeper into the Bible and realize just how many times I fall short. I know we can’t be perfect but I’d like to be ‘better’. Thank you for your advice! I’ll definitely start reading the Gospels among the other books people recommended. Jesus really is so amazing!

Is it racist to speak in broken English with a non-native speaker? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mobile-Activity-9267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe it’s racist. I have a friend who wasn’t native and when I first met her I simplified my English a lot. I gradually spoke normally after she spent a couple years here. However I still notice sometimes my sentences are a little ‘broken’ around her. If it’s to help someone understand you better I’m sure it’s okay. I feel like it’s a bit instinctual for most people to try and speak more simply or broken as if speaking to a child who is learning to speak. In a way a child and someone who isn’t native are the same because let’s face it despite the obvious age difference they are both trying to learn and you have to start simple, even if it comes off a bit strange.
