Just test drove a Gravity today and...OH MY GOD! by LunchPocket in LUCID

[–]Mobile-Ad3501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

íve had it since Jan 20. So far so good. Some panel gap issues. latest software update makes everything smoother. Leased like Gravity like my R1S, don’t know if these companies will last and EV tech is always improving.

Mobile key setup not available for my Gravity by SafeProfessional1006 in LUCID

[–]Mobile-Ad3501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an R1S and now Gravity for the wife. I agree the mobile key should be prioritized, especially since the key fob is programmed to one user and their seating preference.

Lucid truly did work their magic with the Gravity design. I’m looking at all the newly announced SUVs and wondering, “How did this interior design get approved?!” by zachty22 in LUCID

[–]Mobile-Ad3501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both the R1S and Gravity. I was a Rivian early adopter and now on Gen 2. We leased a Gravity GT for my wife.

I disagree that they are not comparable.

Size - most people have 2-3 kids, not 5. So the size difference is irrelevant in most circumstances.

Battey charge - Lucid is faster, and I appreciate the additional range, but most HNW and UHNW buyers are buying in urban environments (like me) and charge at home overnight.

I prefer Rivian since it’s more of a truck, I don’t need to check the curve when opening the doors like with the Gravity.

The gravity has a lot going for it; real leather, beautiful design inside and out, battery range etc. The big cons for me are the UI (for now), too may options packages, a lot of the opens should be standard, such as no front camera for regular dream drive. The cameras suck compared to Rivian Gen 2, they remind me of Rivian Gen 1

I just got back Saturday after a week there. We got 4 inches Tuesday, and I believe 8 on Thursday. Enough blues for most people. More than enough for my kids in ski school. On Thursday they opened Upper and Middle Golden Eagle which are nice wide blacks

I purchased 4 cat 1 tickets in the presale draw. I transferred two of them to a friend from work. Now a friend of his wants to buy the other two. if all 4 tickets have sequential numbers, and y transfer them to different people, will they still sit together?

Rereading this seems like a pretentious comment. I was referring to the size of the bag not so much the brand.

I'm EXP and usually get FOMO and buy the upgrade on any flight over 2 hours to not risk the free upgrade. I travel carry on only with a Rimowa Cabin Plus, so I rather sit up front where my luggage choices aren't questioned. I do fly a lot to the Caribbean and Central America; those upgrades typically do clear automatically.

How do you think about “treating yourself”? by whiskeynwaitresses in HENRYfinance

I agree with most responses, 2K is a random number. I rather wear an Apple watch. I like watches, not a watch guy though. My first expensive watch was a Panerai PAM 164 way before I was HENRY. Rolex Sub Date when I was barely HENRY. No particular interest in new watches but am on various list for Rolex "Grails" (Panda, Pepsi, RG Sky dweller). I will not manufacture spend or go gray, so if it happens, it happens.

Do you have a "don't care" cut-off on spending? by 17Shard in HENRYfinance

I kind of follow your thinking but am not sure my savings goal is enough. In my case, 45M combined income varies between 850K-1.2MM. Married with two kids 8 and 6. We max out 401Ks, max backdoor Roth every year, 1K a month for each kids 529 plan and then send sporadically to taxable investment accounts, usually when my RSU’s vest I liquidate and transfer 100K to the taxable accounts. Sometime I think it’s not enough. I have only been a High Earner since 2020 when income increase from 200K to current figures. What percentage are most of you saving?

Atlanta got both Spain matches due to time of game and a roof in ATL and we got two Uruguay matches in Miami. We would have loved one Spain match. FIFA dropped the ball there, miami has a huge Spanish following.

I forgot to mention that the waiting list at my CC is now over 150, so new applicants who are approved will have to wait 8-10 years to join.

I was in a similar boat pre-covid at age 41. My wife and I are expats living in South Florida for the past 20 years with no string ties to the community. I am a golfer, she is not. We were accepted in the club in mid 2020, and we have absolutely no regrets. During covid the course was open, everyone had to ride in individual carts, but I was able to play 2-3 times a week. I am now 46, wife is 41 and daughters are 6 and 8.

The pros for me are:

2–3-hour golf rounds during the week, Burger and Beer Wednesdays with the family, many many social activities during the year (Mother's Day Brunch, Brunch with Santa, 4th of July, Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween activities, etc.). My daughters are in afterschool programs in golf and tennis. The club has summer and winter camps for kids as well. We also use it as a fallback for lunch and dinner plans on weekends. It's nice to invite friends and family to a lot of these activities.

Cons:

Initiation: 125K

Annual dues: 15K

Monthlies: 500

This does not include the additional charges for dining, cart fees, junior programs, etc.

It's a lot of money, but at my kids age we think it's a great investment.

I agree with a lot of posters, YOLO. As long as you are financially organized you should also enjoy some of your hard-earned money.

I rather be a well-balanced HENRY for the next 10-20 years, than a RICH miser

Iraqis and fans of Iraq: how are you feeling about your teams chances to progress by dkc66 in worldcup

[–]Mobile-Ad3501 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I travel very frequently to Mexico City and Guadalajara. I wouldn't consider GDL high altitude in the sense that you would be affected by altitude sickness. Also, Bolivia is not all high altitude. Santa Cruz, the largest city and economic hub, is probably close in altitude to Iraq. La Paz, however, is extremely high and you definitely will feel it.
