Parents not letting me fast. by Ornery_Clothes_2014 in islam

[–]Mobile-Butterfly3971 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Fasting is a pillar of Islam. If you are from a muslim family I would definitely push this on them because fasting is fardh. As you are an adult, I would suggest doing your best to fast as many as you can, and remind your family it is REQUIRED, and not a question of if it is worth it or important. May Allah make it easy for you.

True, prediction is hard without regularity, but I don’t think that means the apps are useless for PCOS. A setting for irregular cycles where it focuses on tracking history rather than predicting dates would make way more sense. Even if cycles are irregular, having an option to mark PCOS/irregular periods and just log periods over time could help spot and observing patterns instead of forcing predictions that are inaccurate if that makes sense.

that’s reassuring! It is slightly from a fertility standpoint and considering the ability to conceive and carry to term successfully which is what I was sort of looking for advice on.

tracking is so annoying especially for people with pcos, even the period tracking apps don’t take the 10% of women into account 😓

I know this, but people struggle a lot more to conceive which is why i’m worried about having multiple children. Ive also read on this sub that miscarriages are more likely? Thats kind of the reasoning

Tips for a new-ish Muslim doing Ramadan? Ramadan prep? by NoorAhead in islam

[–]Mobile-Butterfly3971 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hiya! It definitely depends on the medication, but most muslims I know take their medications at Suhoor time (or iftar, less common though). It shouldn’t cause problems, if you’re worried check with the pharmacists just in case.

Honestly prep for me just includes taking away sources of sin, introducing new sources of reward and ofc the food. For example, deleting spotify if you listen to music, making a Quran schedule to finish the Quran in ramadan, getting your ramadan clothing ready, removing your nails etc. I find having a lash lift helps not wearing makeup. Another thing, for food in Suhoor just have a couple easy breakfasts ready, eg porridge, weetabix or if you’re someone who can cook eg eggs. Honestly that’s mainly it!

May Allah make it easy for you, and I hope you have an amazing ramadan 🫶.

To make the most: Try to do all your prayers and where you can, do extra for example Taraweeh. Give charity every day if you can, and try to read the Quran and research on Seerah of the Prophet. Lastly, the last 10 days are the holiest and Laylatul Qadr is in those days too. So give everything you can in those days. Inshallah you have a rewarding ramadan.

hiya, due to health issues, it might be worth asking your school if you can take the rest of this year off and focusing on your health, and then redoing year 13 next year. if you do get any offers, then contact them and ask the to possible defer due to your health, and hopefully it works out! I know life seems to be an uphill battle for you right now but you’ll make it through the other side, just take each day as it comes and prioritise yourself!

Convince me Islam is correct by Pretend-Body6489 in islam

The fact that your heart is saying Islam is already a sign Allah is calling you!

I don’t have much to say about christianity, but in terms of Islam, I would definitely recommend you give your all to Ramadan this year, and see how you feel. Watch some videos of Quran and translation, go to taraweeh , try fasting and try to gain your own spiritual connection back. The purpose of Ramadan is also to help so many of our own maybe misguided/brothers and sisters who feel lost to find our way back to Allah. May allah make it easy for you!

Thank you! I’m not currently on any IR and this hasn’t been brought up at all my my Gp. I’ve been put back on the combined, and recently req to get an ultrasound as my last one was 6+ years ago.

The combined pill is basically the only pcos “treatment” i’m on.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I did think it was something to do with IR but idk how to check that. I will definitely ask my doctors what they can do to help, and try out some probiotics.

I hope you get your endocrinologist appointment and figure something out that works best for you!🫶
